Working today. I have long stopped paying close attention to Holy Week, but today is a very somber day.
Did a little pond fly fishing yesterday. So I have wet a line three times so far this Spring and caught nothing. What does this mean?
DBIL called yesterday. He just received the results of recent blood work for his annual exam and his PSA and free PSA numbers have entered the zones of concern. He is an extreme hypochondriac and is a being a bit frantic. I probably should have been more empathetic, but try as I might, I could not calm him down. I finally had to end the conversation because he was escalating with wild speculations. Hoping he gets in to see a urologist ASAP and gets some answers.
Warmed up yesterday and 45 degrees this am. Daffodils are ready to bloom, the forsythia is blooming as well. Grass is coming out of dormancy. All good things.

    Be OP ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

The Maundy Thursday communion service last night was sparsely attended. It was a rainy, nasty evening, and many in our congregation are old and don't like to drive after dark, so ... I developed a cold, and almost lost my voice. I "sang" wearing a mask. I could croak out the low notes and nothing else, but I was there. Feeling a little better this morning, but still pretty hoarse. Hope the voice is better by Sunday. We're a small choir (14 singers) and anyone's absence is felt - and heard.

Our daffodils are in full bloom, but it doesn't feel very springlike, with highs in the low 50s when it should be in the 60s.

Hope work isn't too bad for you today, Steve.

    PT progress, Bill.

Time fishing is always well spent, even when they don't bite.

I suppose I might be considered a bit of a hypochondriac but think of myself as more of a data guy. Also I don't jump into treatment for the same reason. I might ask my urologist if he thinks doing free PSA is useful in my case. He is a data guy and doesn't panic.
Yup as Dave says it doesn't feel like spring here in the PacNW. Rainy and nasty here yesterday. My DW has found the tenebrae service at our church to be too depressing for her so she has stopped doing Maundy Thursday with tenebrae services. sorry about yur cold Dave.
Hope Steve gets some time off today. I know some East Coast folks knock off early the Friday before Easter.
    Keep on keepin' on Bill.

    Mornin'

Waiting for the insurance guy to come look at my car bumper this morning and estimate cost. The agent says I have no deductible so it's all covered even though it's 100% my fault (except the jerk shouldn't have stopped in the middle of a busy intersection while I was checking my blind spot... just sayin'). However, if the other car is more than $1000 to repair, I'll get hit with premium surcharges.

Gorgeous warm spring day yesterday; this morning gusty, chilly 45º, but at least sun is shining.

Yesterday I cleaned up a freebie reel-type hand-push lawnmower for DS's new house, a gag-housewarming gift. He's a power equipment salesman. I may try sharpening the blades with lapping compound--manual says run the blades backwards and the grit sharpens blades like new, although it seemed to mow grass okay after I simply adjusted the cutter bar. Me dad used to use one of these when I was a kid.

Lee, you're confusing sports--remember: there's fishing, and then there's catching, two entirely different things.

    Have a good friday everyone.

    Good Morning

I hope you can get some rest for the cold and especially rest your voice Dave.

Daffodils have come and gone here. Sometimes they bloom in February if we get a warm streak to start them. Now we have California Poppies and other wildflowers blooming everywhere. Their beauty never grows old. Great PT session yesterday. I finally can cycle with a bit of stretching of the knee first. I have no endurance but it feels great to have the range of motion going. I have one session left. I am thankful she is giving me back stretches to do as well and addressees back issues as we go. But I found out that my referral was rejected since they only take patients from the large Orthopedic Practice they are connected to. But she is going to prepare a list of stuff I can do for my back as well. I was at the Urologist yesterday, all is well except for my Potassium which has been climbing to the upper limit. So now I will get an MRI done with a high end MRI machine to see if there is anything needing a biopsy. I overdid it yesterday running simple errands and was a bit unsteady at the end and had to sit for a while to heading back to the car. I am more concerned about my lack of endurance than anything. I can't wait to start walking again and begin to build it back. I am starting to focus on eating now as my activity starts to ramp up.

Do not know where yesterday's post went. took over four minutes for MFP to open this morning; is it my computer or are others having issues.
Rain predicted for today and tomorrow, upper 70's today but low 50;s high for tomorrow with rain; fun for Easter Egg hunts and Masters.
Good Friday is traditional garden planting day down here, believe I'll wait a couple of days, but have gotten a few tomatoes already in ground. Car is loaded with mulch that needs to be put out but will be very messy with drizzling rain.
Prayers with you Steve, know it is very stressful deciding to change jobs.
Mike, will keep fingers crossed other vehicle is less than $1,000
A day fishing whether one catches fish or not is always better than a day in office, unless one catches too many sun rays or mosquito bites.

My insurance would not raise my rates for an accident. One reason I have been with them "forever". I now have a "no cancel" loyalty standing with them.
Gardening is for many of us a planting calendar and not just a day. Early season crops like lettuce and peas need to be in early. Warm weather crops like tomatoes and corn much later. One reason the old timers had a calendar to plant by which was subject to change with the weather.
Peas in particular do best when planted early enough.
It has been a late year for us with late snows etc.
