Good morning gentlemen.
Sounds like you had a rough day, yesterday, Lee. Hope today is an improvement.
Sassy decided today was a good day to get up early. At least we went outside during a break in the rain. It will be a soggy one - again - in Tumwater.
Rita left the kale plants in her garden last summer, and they bolted up to six feet tall. Now, they are starting to blossom, and the blossoms are delicious. She sautés them with some onion and garlic, and it is a bit like broccolini. We had a bunch of it with some ham for supper last night. A great taste of spring, even if it still feels kind of wintery outside.0 -
Mornin'
Foggy and cold this morning...
I thought taxes here in MA were not due till Tuesday because of "Patriot's Day" holiday tomorrow. (Paul Revere's ride, an excuse for a day off for the annual Boston marathon. Similar to "Evacuation Day" holiday on Mar. 17, when British ships fled Boston--conveniently always on St. Patrick's Day.) But it appears the April 18 due date this year is a Federal thing for some reason.
Went to DGD's field hockey scrimmages yesterday at Holy Cross--she got about 15 minutes of play, which is good--usually she warms the bench. Ran into a fellow alumnus from class of '72, one year behind me. Heard DGS who graduated from there is either going to be a lay missionary in Ecuador or play for the NFL if he passes muster. And their "little" brother (250# defenseman) enrolls at HC in the fall. Hard to keep up with family stuff sometimes.
Church this morning and a ton of laundry to plow through later. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning!
We had a lazy day yesterday. It was cold and rainy. I made a big pot of noodle soup last night. Today is sunny, and it is supposed to be a little warmer. Into the 50s anyway. I will get out my lawn tractor and pick up sticks. I really need to mow. The grass is already very high. If I cannot mow later today because everything is still too wet, then I will mow Tuesday evening. Connie speaks tomorrow night for MADD in Leavenworth.
My weight this morning was still 199. I have not done much to lose the weight that the doctor ordered me to lose. I am still stress eating at work. I have a new burnout journal. I'm hoping that helps. I am determined to stop the stress eating as my first major task. I am really hoping to hear back on the job that I interviewed for, or hear on another position. As a backup, we looked at all of our income and expenses. I could retire right now, today. I still have a little bit of work left in me, and the money is good. We are also still considering the idea of semi-retirement, and also consulting work.
Lee, holding you in prayer for your work situation.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
Yesterday, although busy, long (didn't get home until 8), and the multiple euthanasia cases, actually was a good day compared to the rest of the week.
Prayers accepted.
Love my job, just not my company. I have pretty much decided I get paid too well with decent heath benefits to go anywhere else at this time. That could change tomorrow.
Cool that you got to catch up with that HC alum, Mike.
I do have to get serious about controlling my stress eating too, Steve.
Kale blossoms sound delicious!

Good Morning
Lee, hang in there. Sometimes we can only take it day by day. Prayers offered.
Kale anything is a non-starter here. But if I ever did, I hope Rita is preparing it. Dave makes it sound tasty....until I think about it.
I continue to be caught between my knee rehab and my back. A good day yesterday but it all went south at bed time for some reason. But I will keep at it because I am getting stronger and making progress. I TENS as needed and back off at times, like today, to keep going but not make things worse.
Taxes are in and paid, worst year in a while but it all changes in 2023 which is good...I hope. Heather is crafting online with her sister today so I will putz around and try to get some things done downstairs. She overruled my dinner and went to the taqueria to get dinner. I haven't had a burrito in years. I won't lie...it was awesome.
On the subject of healthy eating. I have been looking at getting into a more structured approach now that the worse of the knee stuff is well behind me. It seems like WW & Noom are the main two players. Both are not cheap. Any thoughts?0
