Wet soupy morning here in DC! Roads were already a mess on drive in today. Ugh. Hoping to pop smoke early - today is "family" day. The day were people bring their mobile germ devices with them and we act like they are so cute and adorable. NO, I don't want your kid in my office touching stuff with your sticky, snot covered hands.....nor do I want to lie and tell you they are adorable. LOU! SAVE ME HERE! BACK ME UP!
Wine HH tonight with former neighbors. Dinner party at NEW hood with neighbors I recruited for VFW. Should be a nice weekend.
3 weeks away from. moving! Hoping to get inside this weekend to see the progress. DW was concerned the deck they installed is 12x10 but the plans and contract say 10x13. I'm not ready for this battle. It really doesn't bother me. But......

There's no value in children other than to prop up retirement for prior generations, Skip. And even then, they waste the first 20 years or so being a cash drain on society. At least in China, they work in the mines or stitch shoes to contribute to household expenses.
I think the toe is looking much better today. I think when he lanced it on Wednesday, it really helped. It was just a random infection, Skip.
Party after work was good. Definitely put a little more work into it than the typical after-staff meeting thing.
I brought a bottle of Malort (it's a Chicago thing) and filmed some reaction videos with people as they tried it the first time. Videos are too large to upload here, but they were hysterical.0 -

I like kids in small doses. And in kid friendly places. The office not so much.
The house next to us is for sale. Way too expensive for what it is IMO. Right out side the back wall the have been dumping debris to build up the land for a new development which will block the Mountain View and the small road outside of the guard gate is going to be turned into a through street. I don’t blame them for selling now.
Off for our hike. It will likely just be us and one other gal (who has to turn back early to get to work). Her husband is going to Guadalajara today to get his tax ID.
Contractor didn’t show to install toilet. New appointment for Saturday.

I like kids. I'm excited to meet my baby grandson Tony Jr. Less than 12 weeks out now.
Sunny and 60 here today. Then temps drop for Sat and Sunday back into 40s. We have Nieces baby shower Sat and Granddaughter Lauren's baptism on Sunday.
DH started painting his new shed to match the house, like this HOA
requires. Those darn HOAs!

I love kids, too, but don't see much point in having them come to an office environment. Now, if you worked in a donut shop, or something interesting ....
Received the first bid on painting our house: three times as much as we paid 13 years ago. Another appointment today, and one tomorrow morning. I need to get permission from the HOA, too.
We're having a nice break in our lousy weather spring. It will be sunny and near 80, today and tomorrow, before returning to lousy on Sunday.0 -

Skip sounds as contractor made an expensive mistake, over years that foot will make a difference.

Our HOA is handled by a management company, cannot get them to respond to anything but they will surely send out demands and fines to homeowners, at least bylaws have a clause that if approval is not given or addressed within 30 days it is automatically approved.0 -

Good evening
This house is rock and rolling and ready to go tomorrow for the engagement party. The brides mom stopped by today, let’s call her Jane, since that’s her name. She asked when the bride, Natalie, would be here to help and the response was around 11 Saturday. She said that Natalie isn’t much on helping. No kidding. That’s my biggest red flag. Oh well. I’m ready for this ordeal to be over.
So quiet here. Dogs at daycare. Spending the night. I have a feeling I’m going to sleep well tonight.0 -
