Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, Strava - data syncing best practices

I'm concerned I am double counting exercise therefore extra calories allowed to consume and would love some advice.

I currently use Strava to track all running activities.
Strava is then synced with Fitbit.
Fitbit is synced with MyFitnessPal.

I also have Strava connected directly with MyFitnessPal which I believe is leading to double counting exercise. I'm testing removing this connection.

Currently

Strava -> Fitbit
Strava -> My Fitness Pal
Fitbit -> My FitnessPal

My Fitbit is also double/triple counting activities and I have no idea why/how.

I normally start my GPS activity directly from Strava, however I am testing starting directly from Fitbit so I can pass through HR data from Fitbit to Strava.

Testing
Fitbit -> Strava
Fitbit -> My FitnessPal

Does anyone have any recommendations on best practices to connecting the 3 apps?

My ideal:

All exercise activity tracking in Fitbit. I do like Strava bc I can see the route, I prefer it over Fitbit's UI
If I track runs via Fitbit, then I can pass HR data to Strava.
Track only food + import exercise from Fitbit to MFP so I know the accurate amount of calories to intake.

I fear I am in an app sync paralysis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm concerned about the same issue. I don't have an answer. Has anyone shared insight?

    If Strava will link to Fitbit then I would think that is the way to go and NOT link Strava to MFP. I use MapMyRide for biking rather than using the gps in my Fitbit but there is no way to connect MapMyRide to Fitbit so I have to connect it to MFP. The ride does then show up in Fitbit as an exercise for the day with a time stamp and duration listed and an indication that it came from MFP. I do get my active zone minutes for that time as Fitbit still records heart rate during my ride. I have no need to put heart rate data back into MapMyRide as I track that only in Fitbit app.
