After church going to DGS birthday in RI-- he's 3 now. Bought him a truck and a kazoo, which I'm sure his folks will appreciate.

Heard last night wife of old college buddy in Bangor died. She fell earlier this week, had surgery for broken hip and then heart attack followed by a second one. They have an older, severe Down syndrome son who lives at home, and my friend has been in a rehab home recovering from bowel surgery and a stroke, while the wife took care of everything at home. When it rains it pours. I don't know who will take custody of the son, but there's a single daughter who will somehow help.

    Have a good Sunday everyone.

    Good mo.rning!

Lee, that is such a sad situation. Prayers for that family.

I helped Connie again with her flower bed at the cemetery. It is finished now. The plants just need to grow and do their thing. My lower back is telling me that I need to get more regular exercise.

Connie had made a call to Orkin to come out and look at some holes we have in the ground. Turns out they are voles, and Orkin does not do voles. The service tech was asking me about the last time we treated for termites. We could not remember. He asked if he could poke around in the basement. Sure enough, he found live termites. Ugh! So.... $2300 lighter ($3400 for the 5 year deal), we are having our house treated for termites on Monday morning. For the voles, we did research online. I don't want anything that will hurt the dog or the cat. What we came up with is a device that hooks up to a hose and couples to your car exhaust. Run the old truck and stick the hose in a hole. We'll see how that works, It seems to have received good reviews. I get the device sometime late this week. The good news is that the landscape timbers that Connie wanted me to replace with stone is put on hold. The Orkin guy recommended no replacing those for at least a month so that if there are any termite colonies in there, they will be eliminated when the house is treated.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

Very sad situation in Bangor, Mike.
    Beautiful day on tap today.
Getting young dog's eyes checked for any genetic eye disease by a veterinary ophthalmologist this afternoon. Hip and elbow xrays already sent in to be reviewed by the OFA.
Voles. Sounds like the cat ain't doing its job.

    Be OP ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

    That's a tough situation, Mike.

DS decided against digging clams, this morning, so they will pick up kids to get them ready for church.

Weather should dry out enough this afternoon, for me to mow the lawn. It's nearing the jungle stage out there.

    Good Morning

We got in such a hurry to get on the road yesterday that I neglected to check in. Turns out our plans to take the coast highway down wasn’t possible. Slides wiped out several portions south of Big Sur with the winter rains. Thankfully I missed the turn off to the coast and Heather didn’t want to turn around. Skies cleared the further we drove. I surprised Heather with an oceanfront suite. I also walked close to twenty minutes without issue kneewise. First time this year. I’ve been up much of the night between back & nerve pain and my stomach not enjoying the rich dinner last night. Off for Abelskivers for breakfast before we pick up our wine and one more oceanside walk but I will have stay off the sand.

I hope the family can provide a home environment the special needs son.
