Got news another classmate/team mate/friend from HS died. Car accident in the mountains of southern Colorado. He was an ER doc in Santa Fe and had a cabin high up in the southern Rockies. His dog, a big newfie, also died in the accident.
Life is so fragile.
Be careful out there, gents.

Good morning!
Lee, prayers for your classmate/friend's family.
Lee, that looked like an awesome feast! Nice!
I had a great first day of work yesterday. I am really going to like this place. Nice and steady pace, not crazy. Their growth is amazing. These first days are all about absorbing as much as I can and asking a bunch of questions.
Mike, I hope that you have a great trip, flies and all.
I weed whacked on Sunday, and now I have a bit of poison ivy on my left wrist. That's going to be an irritation today. I don't get it. I never had poison ivy rash before I was 50, and now I look at the stuff and get it. Argh!
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
That's terrible, Lee. As you say, life is precious. We need to make the most of it whole we are here.
I spent half the day yesterday, on a futile search for a repair kit for the anti-siphon valve on one of our outdoor faucets. Even the professional plumbing supply place was out of stock. No new ones likely for at least two weeks. The faucet in question is the one that feeds our timed drip system for hanging baskets around the back deck. I might have to swap parts with one of the other hose faucets that doesn't have to be left on. Never made it to the shop.
Rita has a doctor's appointment this morning. That kind of breaks up the day.0 -
Good Morning
Lee, I am sorry to hear of your friends passing. Life is indeed fragile.
Cabinet work is done in the kitchen. Now we wait on the countertop process. We are off this morning to talk to the our Finance person about our cash flow as we transition and get her input and make some changes. Walking and exercise continue0 -
Sorry for loss Lee, but as I say in each yoga class; we can't go back in time, we are not promised the future, so live in the present and make the best of life.
Super glad things are working out for you Steve.
Sounds as all progressing Bill,
There are lots of things stores are out of, question folks and one see the finger pointing, believe it is a combination of ills and folks not accepting accountability.
Deposit made to hold room for DMIL, trying to get paperwork completed. This is totally her choice.0 -
Sam, hope DMIL's place works out for her.
Steve, sounds like a promising new job situation there. Hope it works out well for you.
Went to sports awards night at HS for the DGS who's graduating tomorrow (the last of the herd this year). He got a sportsmanship award from a local foundation, and he and everybody also who was on a team got an award (for showing up?) Lots of awards for this and that but only took an hour or so. Went with them afterward for homemade "moose tracks" ice cream cone at a local dairy.
Life cut suddenly short at any age is so terrible-- too bad about your friend, Lee. So sorry.
Piano class this morning, then finishing up making the piano winch gizmo I'm inventing. I spotted a nice freebie on Craigslist near DS in RI-- his wife is interesting in getting one for their home. Hoping to test the winch on a family piano up and down a few steps first, before I get involved much. It's still an experiment until the kinks are ironed out. There's always kinks.1
