Sam, I had a feeling that the random poster is either phishing or spam. Nice return with WW. Did not know that the red wine is frowned upon with blood thinners.
Steve, I am so proud and happy for you. You deserved better and you went out and got it.
Thank you for the clarification, Bill. I thought it odd that you were doing the reno and then leaving, but it makes sense now.
Mike, I have a question. When you are camping, are you digging your own latrine, or is there a nearby porta-potty?
Bob, are you out there?
My boys will be celebrating 34 and 33 yrs on the planet this year, Dave. Time does fly.

Good morning!
Lee, thank you!
We didn't have much of a spring here. We mostly went from winter to summer with a short spring in between. We should have a normal high in the low 80s right now. We have been flirting with 90s every day, which is the average for July.
I have not been doing much organized exercise. Time to get back into that.
I hope Mike is having a great time camping.
Have a great day!0 -
Morning...
52º this morning, and cloudy. Maine forecast this week is rain, rain, rain and low 40's at night, and my car needs some unexpected work, so I changed my reservations to Saturday. Should be much dryer and milder weather next week.
There's a lean-to, picnic table, fire ring and an outhouse at this campground. And a ranger cabin; he sells firewood ($4) and rents canoes ($8/day)--dirt cheap. Seven other campgrounds in the 200,000 acre park. Otherwise the area is just wilderness with hiking trails through it. There's remote backpacking and canoeing spots as well, but all with outhouse, table and fire ring. Get your water from streams. The only infrastructure in the park is the old dirt road network from the logging days.
There's a billboard somewhere up there: "THIS IS GOD'S COUNTRY -- DON'T BURN IT DOWN AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE HELL." Luv it.
The Maine north woods is said to be the biggest wilderness east of the MIssissippi. The size of Belgium with no paved roads, no powergrid, resident population 0. Lots of hunters, campers fishermen, and the loggers, who own much of it.
I could go on and on about the place... sorry.
Have a good day, and Steve, enjoy your 2nd week at the new place.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Time spent in the back country is always time well spent, to me. But steady rain would lead me to delay a trip, too, Mike.
Going to be pretty warm, today - in the low 80s. Should be nice for DS' backyard birthday party.
My stiff and painful neck continues. Hope it eases up today. It does respond to ibuprofen, so that helps. We need to drive up to the post, to hit the commissary. There are a number of shopping items we need that are just cheaper there. Have some banking to do in our credit union, too.0 -
Good Morning,
Any alcohol will thin blood, taking blood thinners easy for one to get blood too thin; just as one eating greens increases vitamin K which thickens blood. Doctor wants my INR between 2.4 and 3. When first went on blood thinners tried eating a salad and having a drink could never get just right.
Bill, kitchen is looking good.
Wise to change dates Mike, do not believe you would enjoy cold wet camping.
Glad you are still enjoying job Steve.
Toad is running again, just a battery where warranty expired May 1.
Dave, hope all enjoy birthday party; but you all are making me feel old my kids will be 41 and 44 this year and we waited 5 years.0 -
Good Morning
Sounds like a good call, delaying the camping trip Mike. Sounds quite peaceful up there.
Toad Lives!
My boys are 35 & 38. It is hard to fathom at times but then we are coming up on our 41st anniversary. My primary care Doc did my pre-procedure physical yesterday, mostly an EKG that always shows an anomaly. We had a good talk about the reasons for the biopsy, the past year of medical issues and my fatigue with it, and my plan to keep on schedule with our relocation. He told me of a study down in Switzerland of organ donors. They found 50% of men in their 70s had some level of prostrate cancer, didn't know and never experienced problems. He then told me to be aware that there are very aggressive forms that need to be dealt with. It was a good talk, my frustration with the past year is pretty high. It might be my last visit with him since I can't get a physical till October. He's been my doc for 31 years. House organizing, some cleaning and some packing today if I don't succumb to watching replays of the French Open (tennis).0
