Up even before the birds this morning. Uggh.
Still packing for camping—I don’t know how I would have left today, probably a good thing I changed the dates. It’s a chance to organize my stuff better and to make my checklists easier to use. I bring my CPAP when I camp, powered by solar charged lithium batteries. The only hitch is if there’s cloudy weather, they won’t recharge in one day. I suppose I could use the car outlets to charge them, but I’d have to idle the engine for 4-5 hours, or drive around the park that long. Generators are prohibited.
All my food is dried so far, but I’d like to bring some fresh meat for the campfire the first day or two. Planning healthy meals from backpacking food is not easy.

Mike, I used to camp all the time. When I was a bachelor, I'd even load up a pack and fly somewhere like Florida and camp. Since I have met Connie 34 years ago, I have not camped. I miss it sometimes, but not real often.
I'm getting new tires on my car today so I'm driving the old truck. It is supposed to rain this afternoon. The truck does not drive well in rain.
I had a long and productive talk with the owner of the company that I have started working with. We had a good talk. The future of the company looks great! I also heard from someone at my old company. Two more of the office people left yesterday. The implosion is going rapidly. So sad.

Good morning gentlemen.
We had a great loadout system for camping when we had the old RAV4. The CRV Hybrid is a few inches smaller, and I suspect the big plastic storage boxes won't fit as well. No trailer hitch now, to use the outside rack, either. I suspect our camping days are about over.
Had a very pleasant time at DS' birthday party. DS and DDIL are really nice, interesting people, so it stands to reason their friends are, too. Even the bevy of kids there were a nice bunch.
The carpenters arrive today to make repairs to the house. The painting preparation begins in earnest.0 -

We haven't camped in a very long time and got rid of all our gear. Heather is open to Glamping if we were ever to pursue that again. Not gonna happen.
I got a revised estimate on the countertop. Part of it (the backsplash) I expected since it had dropped off the original estimate when the made a change for the sink. The other charge IKEA is trying to figure out. They should have an answer today so I can pay and keep things moving. Scrubbed and rehung our laundry bifold doors in our laundry closet in the kitchen. Kitchen is set up with wooden countertops so the MW, toaster and tea kettle can all be back in the kitchen. Today I will do some packing, some organizing and cleaning. Fun times.0 -
