....there really was no need to pass me then slam the brakes on and skid to a halt in the bike lane.

You gave me zero space to stop in and I only just managed to squeeze between the side of your minivan and the traffic.

Too bad the mirror was in the way.

My shoulder is kinda sore as a result of the impact, thanks for asking...

I thought it was cute that you threatened me with violence, especially after you had already assaulted me with your minivan. I thought it was especially funny when I called called the cops to report the incident and you sped away like the asshat you are.

I hung around for the cops and gave them your license plate details and they photographed the bruise on my arm.

I suppose that you could be charged with assault, leaving the scene of an injury accident and anything else that the cops can make stick.

Nice move asshat.......

Glad you're okay and hope you feel better. But way to stick it to that @#$%! LOL! It'll be great once the charges are filed and the warrant gets issued.

Glad you are ok. Where do you live that you have so many problems with cars?

    Orange County, CA.

I only ever ride a few miles on the road to get to the trails, but sadly, the street is pretty busy.....

Oh my.....Southern California is really cruel to cyclists. Some of the celebrities down there have really slammed cyclists on their twitters and such (like Cher) and have said how they wish they could just run them off the road! Be careful down there!

Wow, that bites. Hope the shoulder heals quickly. Glad I'm not in the big city. I am fortunate to have back country roads where most people are pretty considerate even if I don't have a shoulder. What would have been wrong with that person waiting until you were past the minivan? They didn't really save any time by cutting you off did they. :)

Well, I hope the cops do something. They tend not too though unless you have proof (film) of what happened. It turns into a 'they said, I said' thing and the cops/courts tend to side with motorist. More and more riders are wearing helmet cams just to protect themselves in situations like this. Colorado isn't much better than California for the relationships between motorist and bicyclists.

Update: The cops called, they have charged him with......

Failure to stop after an injury accident
    Driving on a Suspended License
    Driving with expired tags

He also may face 'Causing a collision' and driving with no insurance,

My shoulder is fine - its now a little yellow, but 32 miles on the bike this morning proved that there is no lasting damage.

Emaren, Glad to hear your back on the bike. Why is it always the drivers with all the problems like suspended license and no insurance that raise the biggest stink when you first get in an accident. They should just be really nice and sweet talk their way into resolving the problem without litigation or police.

Because they're tools... that's how they got their licence suspended in the first place - for general tooley-ness and cockweaselry!

One of the reasons I run a video camera on my helmet!
    cockweaselry

That's a very under-used word IMHO!

Glad to hear you are doing better and very happy to hear they are charging him! Yeah!

And Yin - you have struck again with a new word that just has to be made up, but, oh, so perfect!
