Busy day yesterday, never got to unload all my camping gear from the car. Up early now so I can do it before the car goes to the autobody shop this morning. They're just replacing a bumper and some underlying stuff from a fender-bender that happened back in April. The parts took a long while to come in.
After that's done I'll come back and offload my pictures and post a couple. Weather camping was not bad -- till last day when I got caught in a torrential rain storm while out on a remote lake in my canoe; had to get off the water twice to bail gallons of rainwater out. Mosquitoes were so-so, sometimes bad and sometimes none at all, different times of day. Surprisingly at night in the leanto they left me alone. Was glad at times I had a headnet but most of the time I thankfully didn't need it. Even the park ranger wore one now and then. Saw two moose but they were too quick to catch on film.

Good morning!
Mike, I'm glad that you had a great camping trip! I can't wait to see pictures.
I had a nice Father's Day. Now it is back to work. I have a lot that I want to try to do this week at work.
It will be mowing the yard tonight.
I gassed and filled 44 vole holes this weekend. Of the 44 holes, one opened back up again. I put repellent in that hole, and I will fit it this evening before mowing. I hope that we are finished with these critters.
Have a great day!0 -

Good morning gentlemen.
Had a very pleasant Father's Day. The U-pick strawberry picking was an experience - a very heavy shower of rain and sleet came through while we were in the field. We have as big box of beautiful berries waiting to be cleaned and prepped for freezing. There will be shortcake for dessert tonight, too.
Very cool weather. The lawn needs attention but it's still very wet, too. I will do some work in the shop, then we'll see what the afternoon brings.0 -
I love strawberry picking with my GKs. Haven't done it in hail, though.
Here's a few pics of S. Branch Pond where I camped all week.

Mike, those pics....breathtaking
Made some progress yesterday. Garden is coming along. Father's day was nice. My boys took me to dinner at a Greek Taverna Heather and I like. It was just the 3 of us since Heather is still not over her bug. I had my favorite, Pastitsio, which I think is Greek for overeat. I enjoyed a beer for the first time in a long time since pain levels were down. My eldest brought me an assortment of sausages from a place he frequents in SF that is a Deli that smokes its own meat and makes its own various European sausages. I had a nice spicy one today that was a perfect mix of spice and smoke. One of the nicest Father's Day I have had in a while. Heather is off for the Holiday and will likely rest again today. I have PT and then will be back at work getting us out of here.0 -
Good Morning,
Beautiful pictures, understand why you like to get out in nature but I'm not willing to deal with insects.
DMIL goes to Madison House tomorrow, hope she is happy there, it was her choice to move; cannot believe nightmare of paperwork and government bureaucracy to get her approved.
How is paint going Dave?
Holiday for federal and state employees does not mean anything for us retired folks; only had nine at yoga this morning.
Moving is a great pain, maybe why we have no desire to move again.
I'm so glad DW will cut grass sometimes, especially when I was still working.0 -
Wonderful pictures!!!! We have been picking local Hood Strawberrioes, an Oregon delight fort sure. We too had an extremely heavy rain shower yesterday with almost 1/2 inch in a manner of minutes. My weather station monitor went crazy and displayed a line of text on the bottom that read "RAINING CATS AND DOGS". Cut and I didn't know it would do that.
DD daughter took us to a local trendy Italian place for early dinner. It was nice.
We are now getting a stream of cherry tomatoes from our Sun Sugar plant (we bought a big one to plant).
My DW and I split up the mowing. I mow the large front and she often mows the back.
Wow 44 vole holes?? I don't think I have seen 44 voles in my life.0
