Off to PT for tennis elbow. Strangely, pain seems to have disappeared since camping trip, with all the wood chopping, tent stake pounding, hiking with trekking poles, canoe paddling and poling.... And I didn't get to do any of the stretching and icing she advised on our first visit. Makes no sense. Maybe ten days of laying off the computer keyboard and piano has allowed it to heal?

Chilly, but sunny morning here, invigorating.

    Good morning!

I didn't get signed on yesterday.

Dave, I have osteoarthritis in my left hip. There are several things that help. It turns out that exercise is the best help. The first step I take after sitting causes a sharp pain. It also flairs up with changes in air pressure. Salt and certain foods such as pizza also make the arthritis worse. I have a hot tub and although I have not used it for several months that helps as well. I also take Meloxicam (so does Bill) to help with the general arthritis pain. It has also moved to my fingers. I don't know if you have arthritis or some other malady, but not having it feel good is not good. I also have to watch that I am not favoring it with more of my right hip. That causes other problems such as neck and shoulder pain from the right half of my body trying to cover for the left side. I hope that they can help you out. An X-ray was the only way that they could figure out what was causing me such pain. Oh. I also had to give up my manual transmission car for a standard transmission. All of that clutch work was aggravating my hip. I pray that you can get this figured out with your medical team.

I'm glad that today is Friday. I found that I was sharing my story about Jacob and Stephanie with a few people at work yesterday. Whenever I have to tell their story I feel a heavy sense of grief and find myself just physically tired afterward. But, it feels good to be able to share their story.

    Have a great day!

    Good Morning

Up since 3:30. I had a bad day yesterday, painwise and some issues with Tramadol so I shut things down mostly. Thankfully the biopsy is today and I can get back on my usual meds and calm the arthritic pain back down. The procedure was rescheduled twice yesterday, Not much else going on here.

    Mornin' gents.

I can't even imagine the sadness that would persist with that kind of loss, Steve.
That is a pretty interesting observation, Mike.
Hip replacements for moderate to severe hip OA are being done out patient these days. They are incredibly successful and provide incredible relief and increased mobility. I am sure your docs will advise you appropriately. If you doc thinks it is next step, don't be shy about it. You want to do it before you lose too much range of motion and muscle mass.

    Be OP ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Yesterday, the painting contractor brought yet another carpenter over to fix things the previous ones missed or messed up. I think they are now ready to do the final prep work on Monday and start painting after that. There is one repair I want to finish myself, today. Just some small filler pieces at the top of one of the support posts for the roof over our deck.

DS got me out for a short bike ride before supper last night. We rode less than 10 miles, but it was nice to get out on my wheels again. My legs actually felt good. Maybe I'll start riding regularly again. I used to ride about 100 miles a week.

My PCM sent me for updated X-rays yesterday and had me stop by to schedule an MRI. I have arthritis in my hips, but that isn't causing most of my pain. My issues are related to spinal issues. She called me back in the afternoon to tell me that my discs have continued to degrade over the last six months, and she would refer me to neurosurgery to talk about having discs replaced. Ye gads, that is not something I look forward to.

    Good Morning,
Tried to post twice yesterday, would not go through and I do not believe I was using any dirty words.
My older brother had hip replacement surgery last year as outpatient and drove across Atlanta next day, says he should have done sooner.
Provided I can get drugs I am able to keep going with arthritis but lately have been having issues getting some meds. Finally got medication for two weeks without preservatives, before I was to toss vial after one injection, now drug store is telling me to draw next injection from same vial.

Nice that you mentioned a car with an automatic transmission for hip issues etc. With some of my maladies and healing I am glad we have cars with automatic transmission or all electric which is similar.
I use to like shifting through the gears but around town it was always a big MEH!
Good luck Mike with pt although it sounds like you are doing better anyway.
    YIKES Bill! Hang in there.
I hear ya Steve and like all of us I cannot even imagine the trauma. Hugs your way!!
Yikes Hips, discs, really all our body parts. Hang in there everyone.
