    Good morning!

We were supposed to get rain this morning, but I think it is all going to be north of us in Nebraska and Iowa. It is supposed to get to 95 today with heat indexes above 100. Dew point is 70. Feels like Georgia here. We are in a continuing drought. We'll have to water again this evening.

Lots of chores on tap for today. I doubt that I will spend much time outside. We are for sure in summer now.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning.

PT said it’s possible, with all the camping activities I was doing, that the increased blood flow helped my tennis elbow. She still wants me to continue a few more sessions and then see if we can quit or not. Gave me a bunch of starter exercises to do and ramp up. Arm still hurts, but not as severe.

Boy, Dave—I’d get a 2nd and 3rd opinion before undergoing disk surgery. Prayers for your hip and back.

Unbelievable that hip replacement can be OPt with almost no recovery time. Some day it’ll be drive-thru I suppose.

Visiting my hiking/paddling buddy to show him my camping pics, then over to DD’s to retrieve my canoe that I left there while my car was in the shop. They finished the bumper work and it looks great. The rental car had so many distracting things on the dashboard I thought it was almost as bad as texting while driving. Glad to have me old rig back.

Have a good, on plan day.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Well, the weather here is ... perfect. Should be 77 and sunny in Tumwater today.

DS and family are picking us up first thing and we are heading out for a road trip day. We are driving three hours to hike through a mile-long lava tube south of Mt. St. Helens. Going to be a long day away from home, and Sassy isn't coming (no dogs allowed at the park), so we will leave her in the backyard. Rita got up at 4 to fry empanadas for the trip. A brown paper bag full of warm empanadas was a feature of many a road trip when our DS was a kid, and he requested a reprise.

Hey Lee! Take good care of all your furry critters.
A bit warmer here than Tumwater but still just the low 80s so perfect weather for me and our tomatoes. It was a bit cooler this a.m than I thought it would be as it dipped to 48 degrees but another day in low 80s by afternoon.
Hmmm the lava tube sounds like Ape Caves to me Dave? I have explored Ape Caves with the Oregon Grotto many times. Also other caves nearby like Prince Albert, Dollar and a Dime, Bat cave and many more. I also helped do a modern exploration of Oregon Caves National Monument with Steve Knutson and at one time was listed with the modern surveyors of the cave. I believe there is a small dome inside with our family name on it but hard to find. found memories for sure.
Have fun Dave!!!!! Ooooh empanadas is a lot better than the caving food I ate!!!!!

    Good Morning

A mother's heart at work with Rita getting up at 4am to make fresh empanadas her son fondly remembers from boyhood trips. I am not aware of disc replacement surgery what is it called?

Perfect day today here. About 72 with a gentle breeze. I wish I could be a bit more active right now. Yesterday's procedure went really well. My pain levels were quite high from ongoinh lack of meds but I managed. A new facility for me, but really well run. I remember being rolled into the procedure room, getting into position, accepting an extra pillow from the Anesthesiologist and then hearing him call my name to tell me they were all done and ready to take me to recovery. Throw in some graham crackers and ginger ale and I was a happy guy. I can't restart my meds for a day or two so I am going straight to opiates so I can walk easier and get some easy things done. The realtor is coming by tonight to talk to us about the process and what we need to get done. Next week I will call the painter and flooring to get quotes.
