Raining steady, and cool. Maybe it will wash the smoke out of our air here? State has issued air quality warnings. It’s hard to grasp - for my simple mind - how Canada can have more fresh water than any country on earth, and yet have so many forest fires. Their whole country will be ashes by the time the summer is over.

Church this morning and then more decluttering. And maybe visit family.

    Time for some coffee.

    Good morning!

I lost two pounds this week, so I consider that a victory.

On top of the Canadian smoke, we also have the distinct smell of fireworks in the air. Ugh! It rained in the area last night, but this round split around us. More is expected on Wednesday. We really need the rain.

Bunches of work to get done today.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

I am sorry you're suffering from the smoke. That is an annual thing in the Pacific Northwest. We get it from fires in British Columbia in August and September, from our own fires in the same months, and sometimes from California. It is a visible sign of climate change.

Thankfully, our air is clear, now, with no rain in sight, either. It will be 80 today and tomorrow, into the 90s for the Fourth and the day after. That probably means around 100 for Bob, down in Portland. We can't run the sprinkler system for another week, or so, to allow the paint to fully cure. Our manicured lawn is going to be pretty brown and crispy by then.

Good job on the loss, Steve. Now repeat that.

    Good Morning

    Nicely done Steve!

Our fire season was delayed due to the extended rainy season. But regrettably it is only a matter of time for the West Coast. It hit 109 yesterday. Today it will cool off to 100. Before it gets too warm we will be in the garage this morning sorting through the debris from the kitchen build to collapse the cardboard and lessen the load volume so I can haul it to the transfer station in the car. Then it is back to house stuff. I have a couple of lights to install to replace some hand made stained glass ones we are taking with us. It is always an adventure when I do projects.

From freezer (48deg yesterday) to the frying pan (99,maybe 100°F Wed with Tue Wed and Thur in the 90s) going to be hot anyway starting in upper 80s tomorrow. Dave is right about that in PDX. Always a bit hotter here than Olympia for sure. I might need to water my tomatoes in containers twice daily in the around 100deg heat.
Sadly our extended early wet spring might make the fire season worse with extra growth now that it is turning hot.
Shingles shot (Shingrix part one) was ok yesterday with just some upper arm pain.

    Stay cool all!

    Afternoon gents.

Rainy day today in CT. Finally got cover off the boat, but did not get it wet yet. Thought I might need a new battery, but just a little contact clean up and we is fine.
Off to get prevnar and dpt vaccines today. Rheum doc wants me to get the prevnar and I need to update my pertussis so I can hold my grandson in a few weeks in Germany.
GP wants me to have paxlovid in hand in case I catches the COVID when abroad.
Fingers crossed no fires out west.
Congrats on being a loser, Steve.

    Be OP ;-)
