Up and heading for drive thru breakfast sandwich and coffee, and a hike somewhere while it’s cool. Got in 2 miles yesterday, not a lot, but a start towards a habit. With forecast of hot days the only time for exercise is at dawn. It’s 60° right now.

Good morning!
Dawn is a good time to hike outside. We are entering a stretch of hot and dry weather. The low last night was 69.
I'm at 192.2 this morning. That is the first I have hit that low since last September. Onward and downward!

Goodmorning gentlemen.
Spent much of yesterday on the beach. I am a bit sunburned as a result. We parked at one area and walked a mile and a half to a jetty and beach popular with surfers. DDIL went back for the car while we were exploring. When we linked back up with her in the crowded parking lot. Rita was surprised by a large group of young surfers singing Happy Birthday to her - DDIL had been chatting with them and told them it was Rita's 70th. On the way home last night, we stopped at a local casino and my birthday girl hit on a $1,300 jackpot. Quite a day of surprises.
Another surprise, today: it's going to rain. July is the driest month of the year, so the rain is welcome. Fire danger has been getting very high.0 -

Another good productive day yesterday. All packed boxes are tucked away in storage. Last night we ate on our regular plates with silverware for the first time in a while as we try to restore some normalcy to our home. Today I clean up the packing supplies area in the living room and rearrange things a bit. Temps are cooling this week so I will get out for a walk and see what I can do.0 -

I'll take anyone's cooler weather; our lows if lucky will be low 70's but rising into 90's each day with heat index well over 100.

Preparing supper for lodge tonight; smoked baby back ribs, baked beans, potato salad, and apple cake with cream cheese frosting; should have about sixteen there.

Tomatoes are staring to come in...just as we is leaving.
Thanks to Sam, I've been spraying the tomato plants with epsom salt solution weekly and they are looking and doing great.
