Did over 11 miles walking yesterday. Gotta say those trekking poles are very helpful on the inclines.
Great to hear surgery went well, Bob! Sounds very similar to what is done for cornea surgery in canines.
Freeze dried lasagna? You had me with "lasagna".
Glad stool is coming out the way you planned, Dave. Its a good feeling when the pieces come together with proper planning and skill.

Good morning!
Lee, does your son live more in the mountains? That is a lot of walking!
Something is wrong with my 2019 Honda Civic. CV axel? I'll be driving the truck until it is fixed. I'm glad that it is supposed to be cooler next week as I have no A/C in the truck. I'd drive the truck more, but it gets 10 mpg and the car gets 36 mpg.
I hope and pray that everyone is doing better.
Have a great day!

Good morning gentlemen.
I'll put two more coats of finish on the legs of that stool, today, and it will be done. I still need to clean the smoker after Tuesday's ribs, too.
I really wanted to go for a hike, today, but my hip/buttocks/leg were bothering me so much last night that I decided to call it off. I'm feeling a bit down today as a result. My big hikes will inevitably come to an end at some point as I age, but I'm not ready for that end yet.0 -
Mornin’
You’re getting a lot of walking in, Lee! I started hiking with poles when I read they were helpful for sore knees, maybe 20 years ago, and nearly alway use them for hikes. They not only cushion the joints on downhill climbs, but stabilize you on rocky trails. I also make better time hiking on irregular ground when I use them. Some people use them for walking roads, claim better exercise overall. I hope I can keep hiking till I go to the great campground in the sky, but am already slowing down and creaking along much more lately.
Good to hear your eye operation went okay, Bob.
Sam, Heal up my friend.
Bill, don’t overdo while the redhead is away. Do you tune the dulcimer by ear or use a tuning app?
Steve, 2019--is the CV joint covered by warrantee?
Locking myself up till I’ve paid this month’s bills, put away all my camping gear, and get rid of some of the other clutter.
Have a good day, men.0 -

I like using poles on steeper trails myself. I liked using them to climb up and down Dog Mountain near the Columbia whilst doing training to return to the Gobi Desert and a dinosaur dig there. We don't take anything away from Mongolia fossil wise but have 3 d replicas made of special finds.
I have had a couple of synvisc shots for my knees over the years but doing ok just now.
Yup so far so good with the eye surgery. I was sure that the amnio graft either cryopreserved or freeze dried had been used in animal eye surgery. Many thing have been worked out in critters before experimenting on us peeps.
Hope everyone's hips, knees, and so much more are doing better as much as possible.
11 miles is a lot of walking indeed Lee.

Good Morning
Bob, it is great to 'see' you back and I am glad things seem to be on track.
Mike, I tune using a Korg chromatic tuner that I connect to one of the tuning pins with a cable and alligator clip. This eliminates external sounds from being picked up. Once the tuner dies I will switch to an app. I do try to train my ear from time to time. There are two strings per note. Some tune one by tuner and the other by ear. I frankly have no natural ear for these things. It matches my lack of rhythm. It makes playing a combination acoustic and percussion instrument quite exciting.
I had a rough day yesterday with the fatigue and pretty much shut down, dummed down dinner and was out in a chair by 8. But after 8 1/2 hours of sleep I am feeling normal again. I added some hilly streets to my walk. I peeled off when my back started acting up, but turned on a road that eventually turned up hill but I was OK and my pace was good. I plan on breaking out the trekking poles again once it cools off and I can go longer. I am hoping to do some light hiking again once I build up some more strength and endurance since my knee is new.0
