Will be packing for camping trip mostly today. Weather for Lake George looks optimistic next few days...
Have a good one.0 -
Good morning!
I thought that I had a dental cleaning today, but got a call yesterday saying the appointment was canceled as the hygienist went into labor. Sounds like a dog ate my paper thing, but any port in the storm to get out of going to the dentist.
The cat is helping me type again this morning.
Bill, Bob, Sam, special prayers for you today and for your healing.
Mike, I have osteoarthritis in my left hip. Everything that I have heard or read says that consistent exercise, specifically walking actually helps the arthritic pain. I believe they are right. I also try to get up at least once per hour and stretch/walk.
Prayers for all of you today for healing and comfort.0 -
Yes, I think sitting is a problem for my hip; I seem to have less pain if I am up and around more. It doesn’t hurt while I am sitting, but when I first get up—ouch!0

Good morning gentlemen.
The heat will ease a bit today, should only get to around 90. Yikes! How things have changed when we say 'only' 90 in Tumwater.
I have to do some lawn work this morning, before it gets too warm. The grass is getting pretty long. We're going out to dinner with our DS tonight. DDIL and the grandkids are taking a surfing class down on the Oregon Coast.
Sitting up, like in a car, a dining chair, a church pew, starts to cause pain in my lower back and glute. Walking causes pain radiating down from glute to hip, thigh and shin. Appointment with neurosurgeon next week to evaluate what is going on.0 -
Mornin' gents. Short answer is that I got my path report from Casey Eye Institute and I had a Squamous Cell Conjunctival Cancer in situ. It was confirmed by my old boss one of the truly bright ophthalmologists who ran the eye path lab when I was in charge of the technical side.
In situ (Latin for in place) is good as the treatment is what the Cornea dept head already did. He excised with a margin and then also did cryotherapy on the area before covering with the membrane graft stuff.
Nice to have sent in the tissue for confirmation which we both agreed to. Excision plus cryo is the gold standard for treatment anyway. Should not need further stuff at this point.
I will be without internet for a few days so worry not. Part of the time I will be at the Oregon Coast which is nice it has been over 100 deg here for the last 4 days or so.
Hope all those backs knees and hips do better. Gosh us old guys have pains.
Enjoy the day best you can!!!0 -
Good Morning,
Pain lets us know we are still alive as we age.
I am doing much better, able to ride trike, use clutch and change gears; cut grass yesterday.
Humidity is lower and highs only upper 80's today, low 90's over weekend as temps and humidity creeps up next week.
Hope Lee and girls are having a good time.0 -
Good Morning
Too much sitting is never good for ones hips. In my case it can cause sever piriformis spasms. Last time I had to have trigger point injections to get it to release. Thankfully my Dr nailed it. I do hip mobility workouts to try to counterbalance the sitting I am doing from fatigue.
Bob, I am glad the report came back as expected and confirms the treatment. Still praying for your healing
Things are cooling off here as well down to around 90. I am going to try to head out to the gym and see if I can get going on the bike and treadmill since my back is doing a bit better. I hope to do a little baking today. I am going to experiment with scones. It will be scones with currants today. Skillet chicken pot pie for dinner will be a nice change from the simple meals I have been throwing down lately.
