Good morning!
It has been crazy hot here. We are expected to stay in this heat dome until Friday. Yesterday had a recorded heat index of 118. I saw 127 at one point in our back yard. The humidity is amazing being in the low 80s for a dew point.
I weighed in at 191.2 today, which is the lowest I have been in well over a year. On May 19, I weighed 201.2. It is going a little more slowly than I'd like, but headed in the correct direction.
Prayers of healing for all of you.0 -
Whew. Yesterday was a warm one in CT. Finished judging hunt test around 3pm, got home 4pm, took a nap, grilled some frozen turkey burgers, grilled some cheese stuffed jalapenos (home grown and HOT), and then married the two in a hamburger bun, and was in bed by 8:30pm. Didn't get up until just before 6AM.
Lots of good dogs this weekend. Sadly, one nice dog got disqualified both days due to insufficient training. Owner/handler was really frustrated, but I hope we talked him into sticking with it and training better.
Looks like Hillary is creating havoc and scaring the ba-jeezus out of Las Vegas.
Hope Northern Cal only gets some good rain.
Associate doctor at practice taking an emergency week off to spend with visiting parents. Whole staff is kinda scratching their heads. It's gonna be a rough week.

Mornin’. Back from “Davey Falls” campsite. Landowner rents out a spot on the shore of a brook by a waterfall. Torrential rains last week turned it into a raging class III rapid, which looked like it would overflow onto our site, but fortunately didn’t. We had no rain, mild weather—it was only mid-60s one day--and a good time. Had some trouble keeping a fire going as the firewood was damp to the core. Shawn did his 2.5K swim race, although didn’t qualify for placement. Got to paddle a gorgeous Adirondack lake with Nick. Nice to spend some time with me boyz.
DGS left for Ecuador Sunday, spending a year among the poor in a barrio with a group of volunteers. I’ll miss him sorely…
Sam, Steve, we’re only 67º here at 9AM; can’t imagine the heat you’re having.

Good morning gentlemen.
Good job on the downward trend, Steve.
Sounds like a great trip, MIke.
I didn't get up until 6 either, Lee, but it was because I was awake half the night. Couldn't get in a comfortable position without some sort of nagging ache.
Not hot out here - in keeping with our tendency to always be opposite to the rest of the country. It was supposed to be near 90, yesterday, but the smoke from forest fires was thick enough to hold the temp down to the low 80s. Mid 70s, today.
We were in Vegas once when a heavy group of thunderstorms came through. The street was flooded on the strip. In some places you had to wade ankle-deep to get past a low spot in the sidewalk. Desert cities are not built to handle a lot of runoff.

Good Morning
Great work Steve!
NorCal was at little risk for rain unless the tropical storm went further up the coast, which was unlikely. It weakened and angled inland around Tijuana and headed out to the Southwest desert which is unable to handle that much rain. We have some cloud cover this morning which is unusual and some humidity but we will not be affected much if at all beyond that. I will be heading out to the gym soon to keep the knee work going on the cycle. Exciting day of grocery shopping and trying to finish the packing I started yesterday.0
