Good morning and greetings from Houston where the airport rolls out the welcome mat for visitors to this great nation by making them stand in hour plus -long security lines because clearly that sketchy country you came from can't be trusted to do a proper screening and there's no Pre-check for people that know what they're doing.
I get it. You're briefly reunited with your bag for Customs and could grab a *checks notes* machete from your checked bag, but they should still have non-idiot security lines. Falling that, an escape route where I can recheck my bag, leave the secure area and go back in the front door where I can pre-check in 10 minutes.0 -

Heat wave continues through today. Yesterday temp was high at 101F which is unusual for us being on Lake Michigan. More of same today. Then a break.planned!
Sounds like Steph has an awesome year of travel destinations planned!

- It does sound like Ron and Steph have a great year planned. Note they are cruising across the pond.
- We have a scorcher weekend coming up followed by some cooler and wet days.
- I'm trying to decide whether or not to run off solo and meet some Goldwing riders in the Appalachians over the Labor Day weekend.
- What's the status of the A/C Sam?

I have to request copies of my MRI imaging in person, not over the phone. Then have to go back in two days to pick them up so I can take them to the pain management doc I have an appointment with next week. You would think they could do a file transfer online, but that would be too easy.
The grandkids spent the night and will be with us all day. We won't see them for the next 10 days, as they are all heading to Hawaii.0 -

- Marco Island continues to be a great venue! Sun. Sand. Surf. Suds. (Rinse/Repeat).
- Great dinner to celebrate DW birthday last night. And swing through a jewelry shop where she found "the one I must have" piece to mark the occasion!
- Today is same. Last full day in paradise.
- SGM - good luck w/ Doc visit. I've spent most of my week nursing back and limiting activities.
- Welcome back, Lou! Remember, CBP employees are trained NOT to have any compassion or affect.
- DW left iPhone (with DL and Credit Cards in the case) in Uber. THANKFULLY retrieved! Ugh

Good Morning,
Road Toad to Emmaus breakfast this morning, felt great then sun comes out in full force.
Lucked out with air conditioner, an electric switch had gone bad, guy pulled switch out and direct wired to unit. Once it cools a bit I'll go up into attic and put new switch in.

The struggle today was real.
The portable cooler ran out of suds. Had to track down the "Gulf Cart" hostess and forced to $7ea brews. Ugh!
Another perfect day. Headed back to same restaurant as last night. Food was delish. Last night in paradise.
