    Good morning gentlemen.

Today is the annual choir retreat, to kick off the choir year at church. We haven't sung over the summer. A sign that summer is just about over. Rats. Schools will start, here, in another week and a half, after Labor Day. I have seen some color starting to appear in some trees, too.

I spent yesterday morning in the shop turning several small pieces of cherry into wooden eggs and spinning tops. I want to have a lot of small stuff to sell by Nov. 18, when I will display at a craft fair.

    Good Morning

Thanks to my back I was up bright and early. Yesterday I began to play the dulcimer again after almost a year. I did a couple 15-20 minute stints resting my back in between. Do a set of lessons on chord exercises that also builds speed. Felt good. Better living thru Tramadol. Not much planned today though I will continue to practice and do what I can packing and reorganizing some things. I am trying to do more baking. Today I am trying a Cinnamon Star Bread as soon as the butter softens. Looks tricky but we'll see how it goes.

Like most of us I am tired with the COVID thing. The church administrative assistant went on a cruise with his wife and kids and now they all have COVID as my wife discovered.

We had a good old fashion midwest style thunderstorm yesterday morning albeit short lived. The T-storm cell cam up from Salem Oregon and passed over my DD house in Beaverton (near PDX) and then right over our house just north of hers. There was over 1,500 lightening strikes in Oregon and started over 50 small fires at least. Apparently they are also monitoring a lightning fire near Bull Run Reservoirs which are Portland OR best water supply. So far ok.

I too have seen some fall color on a few Vine Maple trees native to the Pac NW.

Going in for prostate biopsy on Friday (joy oh joy). Also hearing appt and visit with my oncologist this week too.

Hang in there folks. Turn turn turn Dave!!! You are just lathing away!!!

    Good Afternoon,
Doctors sounds like lots of fun Bob, NOT!
Bill, wish you were closer; I'll let you bake for me anytime; of course, I would more than likely weigh forty pounds more if you were.
Continues HOT and HUMID, chance of rain Monday through Wednesday then cooler; highs in 80's for a couple of days before 90's return; hopefully 100's plus are gone for year.
