Hope epidural went well, Dave.
We played around with Aussie style rappel in Air Assault school, but it really didn't have a practical application in Air Assualt. The style was developed originally so that the soldier on rappel could fire on the enemy going down the side of a building, but the instructors let us play with the free fall technique from a rappelling platform one day during training.
Bob, love hearing about your youthful escapades.

Mornin’ everyone.
Up at 5AM again.
Resuming piano classes this week. We do chords and score writing on Wednesday; note reading on Thursday, the class I originally signed up for. Will try to get in a walk before class. Trying to get a daily routine walk/hike going. Have been better at it lately.
Reading back through a journal I keep and recalled that last fall there were a series of deaths of friends and acquaintances, one after another, and then more into winter and spring. Seven altogether. All but one was totally unexpected.
Have a good day; prayers for those dealing with pain and medical stuff. And some amusing quotes:
"It's paradoxical that the idea of living a long life appeals to everyone, but the idea of getting old doesn't appeal to anyone."
Andy Rooney
"The older I get, the better I used to be."
Lee Trevino
"Grandchildren don't make a man feel old, it's the knowledge that he's married to a grandmother that does."
J. Norman Collie
"The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for."
Will Rogers
"The older I get, the more clearly I remember things that never happened.
Mark Twain
"Old people shouldn't eat healthy foods. They need all the preservatives they can get.”

Good morning!
Mike, I love the quotes. Thank you! It is good that you are talking about hikes, and not pastries at Bible study.
For those of you that served in the military. Thank you!
Dave, I pray that your procedures all go well and that you find some pain relief.
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Yeah, the L4 epidural went well. Not the most pleasant thing I have been through, but not horribly painful. My hip/leg felt fine withing an hour or two. I'll test it out with a walk, sometime today. Still have some pain on the left side - L4 and L5. Those will be discussed at a follow-up appointment in a few weeks. The doctor said there was no requirement for fasting. So, it goes.
Today I do have to fast for my kidney MRI, with contrast. Fortunately, it is an early appointment: 8:15. I'll take a Thermos of coffee with me, so I get a caffein boost as soon as I get back to the car.
Rita is in a high hover preparing for our long weekend at the coast. I am in the agree-with-everything mode. We'll be shopping, today.
Loved the quotes, Mike. I especially like the Mark Twain one.0 -

Good Morning
Dave, glad things seem to have gone well. Have fun laying still in the tube.
Pain Drs office called yesterday to let me know that she is appealing the rejection of the Belbuc prescription and to see if I needed additional Tramadol until then. I then looked up my cost on Belbuc. It is about $105/mo. Glad it is just until I can get clear of cancer and resume my quarterly treatments. We were going to the movies today but Heather wants to put it off till next Monday. So today I will play at some music, and see how slowly I can clean things up around here without further aggravating anything.0 -
