A week ago today I drove an hour north of where I live and picked up 4 new hens. My new hens are NPIP tested, fat and healthy and happy!
I just formally introduced the ladies together in the same pen and after a week in "quarantine" they are getting along famously. Whew!
After my beginnings with 6 hens in Jan. down to 4 (mareks) and up to 9 then down to 6 again (thanks to a mean and nasty Raccoon) I am now up to 10 hens.
Let's hope it stays at 10. That's a nice even number!
