Ditto on the good feeling from the oncologist, Bill. That has got to be a huge relief to you.
Sadly a friend's dog has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, helluva good trial dog. Not a lot you can pragmatically do in dogs.
Beautiful cool day here in NW CT. Gave myself my Skyrizi inj a day early (given every 12 wks) because I have been really dragging this last week. I have been pushing myself physically and the fatigue and soreness was becoming significant. Going to have a lazy day hunting the girls and prepping for winter.
Today is my 400th consecutive day logging into MFP. I am down about 10 lbs in that time. I will take small victories.
What thinks the group of my work situation? I do not want to retire, but I would like to ease back a bit, but my team feels like the other doctors are unable to pick up the slack. M (DW), is constantly on me about how Heart&Paw is abusing my good will and work ethic, especially since they are late on a scheduled payment on the buyout. Incompetence abounds in the hiring of another doctor, full or part time. I do not want to rock the boat too hard because I need the health insurance and finding another job that will provide insurance seems a bit like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. I am currently working MTW&F, plus 1 Saturday a month. I would love to go to MTW, and just do mostly surgery. I would still work every 4th Saturday, or even every third. Although I am still having to put out fires started by the young associate, she is definitely getting better overall, but I think it will be years before she will be able to manage my caseload.
I feel like I need to be patient and continue to negotiate for one less day. Another option would be to just use all my PTO (I have never taken more that 15 days and I get 20). In any event, it will probably mean having to hire another part time vet, but I actually think it will be good for the practice since we all know I am not getting any younger.

Mornin’
Supposed to hike with friends after morning piano class. Was up last night with more GI symptoms. Yesterday I was fine. Not sure what’s up with that, but I took another Imodium and we’ll see how the day goes.
Condo association is razzing me about having a canoe on my roof rack, after 12 years of no complaints. They like rules… Have been thinking of renting storage space for all the piano moving and camping equipment clogging my 1 BR condo; so that’s an option, or maybe it’s time to think about moving to a bigger place. Usually people my age downsize.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
We're enjoying some really nice fall weather: sunny but chilly. High today will be in the 40s. Since all the wood turnings have been dusted, buffed and priced, I will try to get out for a walk with Sassy.0 -
Good Morning
Lee, you mentioned that Heart & Paw are late on a scheduled payout on the acquisition. I ended my career in Mergers & Acquisitions and this is fairly serious. If you throw in the other issues it looks worse. It could be they are having cash flow issues or they are just taking advantage so they can hang on to the cash longer but I would formerly request payment ASAP. They are in default of the agreement and and extended delay is effectively a change in the acquisition price. Plus it should give you some leverage on these other issues.
Not much planned today beyond making some phone calls and getting things done around here. Rainy weather has finally arrived, not much but the beginning of the rainy season is always welcomed after 6 months.0
