    Went to DD’s last night for dinner, Chinese food, to belatedly celebrate my birthday, which was Wednesday while I was away. Got into assembling a pinball machine with DGD, many parts, screws, dowels, and pages of directions with no words. Incredibly it worked after we were done. Talked DSIL in getting a used, free, upright piano for DGD who started teaching herself on a small electric keyboard they have. Will look around for a decent one in their area, and help him move it and then tune and clean/repair. Probably stay overnight a few days to get it all done—they live an hour away.

    Got in a couple hours hike yesterday, weather started out cold but warmed up to 50’s by afternoon.

    Cloudy with rain coming this afternoon and for tomorrow.
    Pablo does not seem self today. Has some congestion.
    Still have not made it to Athens to get DW's Christmas.

    Frost on the lawn this morning.

    I'll go out around 9 and do some more cutting on my pile of cherry. I finished bucking up all the long logs, yesterday. Now I need to cut the big chinks into bowl blanks and usable pieces. Then I can start putting some on my lathe.

    'Christmas shopping is pretty easy, for us. We stopped exchanging gifts years ago. Now, we only buy for the grandkids.

    Belated Birthday wishes Mike. I see you have already scoped out your next piano project!

    Another day of medical surprises. I was getting dressed to go out when I noticed my right calf and foot were swollen. My Dr closes at noon on Friday but they agreed to take us if we got up there by 11:40. No obvious answer so he ordered a STAT ultrasound to check for a clot and a STAT blood panel to look for signs of an infection. or said I would have to got to the ER. The ultrasound came back last night clear with no evidence of DVT. Blood panel results should be faxed to him today and then he will let me know. My back and sore shoulder and sinus congestion make it hard to lie on the bed with my feet elevated. I will try a couple things today. So another night with no significant sleep. I got to get this stuff ironed out.
