Mornin' BBB
$8/day for dog food isn't horrible (unless you have a pack of dogs). Many spend more than that on their coffee every day. IMO it is worth it if you are getting good results.
Hoping Pablocito is back to normal operations.
You are a good husband and SIL, Skip. I do love a big family dinner, but not putting them up in my house.
17 degrees here.
Picked up rib roast yesterday for Xmas dinner.

Good morning
Ds1 made his 13hour drive here from DC . Yikes. He fell asleep here at 8pm and is still sleeping.
I'm awaiting the daylight, to hit the road to grocery store. I got our hot Italian sausages at the butcher shop yesterday. Oh and some smoked bacon for Christmas morning. Christmas day dinner here with my kids and grandson is Lasagne and hot italian sausages and salad. We're all guests Christmas Eve elsewhere. And we will go to dh's daughters on Sat to celebrate with them and our dgd Lauren, dh's son will be there too.
My 2 brothers and sil are stopping by here at 4pm tonite, for a happy hour gtg. As db1 and sil, well they are heading to MN to spend the holidays with their kids and grandkids.
Meantime I'm watching Anne with an E. Based on the 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables.
I hope you all have a good day!
Prayers continue for those ailing....

Morning gang
We wnt on drive north yesterday and walked around a nature preserve. They hime along the breach road, noting the places we might want to return to check out.
Will need gas soon and I'm bringing a spinach salad to Christmas dinner with our friends so might brave costco this morning or maybe tomorrow. We will be in and out.
The garbage disposal isn't working and now the dishwasher is causing the sink to back up. Ron's going to work on that today too. Im guessing we are using the dishwasher a zillion times more than JW ever did. I cook all meals and he eats out most, plus doesnt reallynluve here. I think it would just be easier to replace than to ntake it apart and look for the problem. I'm guessing it is 10-15 years old. But if he is feeling up to a project I'm happy.0 -
Good morning BBB friends.
The figure I was working with was $10 a day, Lee. That's about what we spend for our own food. But we're cheap, I know. Sassy eats four cups a day of Pro Plan Chicken and Rice and seems to do pretty well on it. She's never been sick or had digestive issues. Being retired, we aren't faced with arranging day care, etc.
Heading out soon to do some banking and the last grocery purchases for Christmas. I need pumpkin puree for a pie.0 -
Good morning BBB Friends. Trouble free flight to San Francisco yesterday but it was a long day. We spent the night at a hotel just off the airport in San Bruno. We'll catch a shuttle back to the airport this morning to catch the Princess bus. Lunch should be on the ship. Stay strong Skip. Enjoy the Christmas season BBB.0

Good Morning,
Retyping this third time, Pablo likes to walk across laptop. He is feeling much better. Guess it is like they say if he gets hungry enough he will eat; but he really does not like Hills Digestive Care. DW has found for $3.74 a can which is what vet recommends for him, half in morning and half in evening. He is doing much better.
Glad Ron feels like working on dishwasher.
Skip I thought all government offices were closed today for Christmas Eve. You will get through family and be better for it.
Stores around here raised prices for standing Rib this week, I settled on a strip this year because DS and DDIL waste so much beef, will not touch within quarter inch of any fat. Last year they took and threw half a way. Such a waste. Should have just got sirloin. Fixing shrimp also.

Good afternoon.
Yesterday was more.. Wait for it... Cleaning. We made some good progress and are getting back into it when I finish off my steps for the b afternoon.
I met a colleague who's in town for, Christmas at a coffee shop this morning and then went to the furrier to see if there's any value in mom's mink coat. She said it may be worth a bit, but that it'd have to be sold through consignment, so you'd only end up with half a bit. And it's the wront season for it as it should have been consigned a few months ago to sell for Winter. So... I don't exactly know what to do with it.0 -
Yep. Back surgery. I had this nerve pain shooting down my leg. Doc said a 1 inch scar. More like a 4 inch scar.
Pain is back. Opposite side0 -
Lou. I guess you might buy the cost now as an investment?

Mom left it for Cecilia, so there's no money to spend. I don't see much use for a 30-pound full length mink coat in Austin though.
We've decided to give it to a dear friend of the family who was basically an all but adopted daughter to my mom. She's always loved that coat and has borrowed it from mom a few times, so it'll fit her.2 -
I think you keep it, Lou....add a pimp cane and hat and complete the outfit and walk up and down the "cool streets" of Austin! You know, those chilly 70-degree days!1
