Got in a good 5-mile hike yesterday. Rain was only an on and off drizzle, though dirt roads were muddy ruts from hunters’ trucks. Beginning of trail was a washed out culvert but I was able to rock hop across it. No wildlife but another hiker said he’d seen a moose there. My hip was sore the last mile or so… I will tell my physical therapist when I see her next week.

    Happy Anniversary Steve & Connie.

    Good morning gentlemen.

I have managed to spend time in the shop every day for the last week. Hope to continue that today. I need to shift things around to make more room for all the wet, rough-turned pieces I am piling up.

I called and made an appointment with a dog trainer. Should have done that two years ago. We'll see her next Thursday.

    Good morning!

Yesterday, I woke up with a runny nose. It only got worse as the day went on. I left work at 1;00 because I was feeling like carp. Ugh! Connie got us takeout pizza for dinner. I went to bed at 8:00 and although Frankie woke me at 4:30 to go outside, I went back to bed and slept until 8:00. I am still not feeling well this morning. Another great anniversary in the books. True "in sickness and in health" going on here. They say that with couples who have lost an adult child, 80% end in divorce. We have overcome those odds and have drawn closer together.

    Happy birthday to Mary!

I will likely spend much of today sleeping, I think.

    Have a great day!

    Good Morning

I am sorry to hear about your cold on your anniversary. Not quite what you had planned but life persistently interferes in our plans.

I was able to take advantage of a cancellation yesterday to be able to reschedule my Pain Dr appt and we went in during the afternoon. The plan was to make sure I was ok from a pain mgmt side to lay still on the table during treatment for 10-15 minutes given my pain/sleep issues. The nerve pain in my tuchus has been re diagnosed back to an angry piriformis as I suspected. So back on muscle relaxers in the evening for sleep, along with ice/heat, tens and stretching. My old knee dr wouldn't let me do any of the effective piriformis stretches due to the stress on my bad knee. Initial stretching it last night was a joy. I pissed it off but heat calmed it down. I am still learning as I go. Changing me of Meloxicam to a NSAID a bit stronger (insurance willing) to help calm down my shoulder along with ice/heat tens and gentle movement that I was doing. Pretty good appointment. Cold rainy weather again today, so I don't know if I will walk since I am supposed to be cautious about catching colds etc. Never did tune my dulcimer since the Dr's appt etc messed up my day. Today for sure. I would love to be able to spend some time relaxing or worshiping there each day for the next few months. Frankly, I am feeling pretty darn good about things, profoundly thankful and ready (not eager) to start radiation. Thanks for the prayers. Keep 'em coming! I still plan on spending the next decade or so enjoying the Oregon shore with my bride.

Happy Birthday Weekend Mary! I am sure Lee will dazzle you!
