    Good Morning,
Starting out very foggy but temps in 60's
Pablo who insisted we get up is asleep beside me on sofa.
Dealing with HOA management company to get permission for fence is a real PIA.
    1. we are all older folks who learned to do things before computers
    2. a phone conversation or letter is much easier for us
    3. you want everything submitted into your portal
    4. we do not have scanners nor know how to put on a portal
5, we know how to take photos on phone, issue is downloading into a portal that times out before
photos are uploaded, do not have place to text photo too or God forbid mail a package to.
    6. and I'm supposed to get all this in before starting fence, but you will not look at for 30 days.
    7. I have fences around me, why does mine have to be different, next door has a four-foot fence, all
other fences go with contour of land, why am I restricted to 42 inches and must keep fence level
    and stairstep down or up.
I now understand why other folks do not have a portal account with HOA and do what they want without permission, but then ask for forgiveness.
Just need to vent, fully understand why most folks hate government and bureaucrats.

    Good morning gentlemen.

    I feel your pain, Sam.

Yesterday, I filled out the forms to apply for passports. DDIL is strongly urging that we all travel to the Philippines together next year. She wants the grandkids to get better connected to the Filipino part of their heritage. I'm not much of a traveler, but this would probably be Rita's last chance to visit her family. We were last in the PI in 1989. Anyway, the forms are ready, with required documentation, we won't make an appointment to process them until I am through my medical/dental stuff.

I was lamenting the fact that we are running out of fruit, when Rita reminded me that there is a produce store a mile from the house that I can walk to. So today I will be out to get bananas, apples and perhaps a couple sweet potatoes. The weight loss continues to go well. Yesterday I was 178 on the scale. That's the first time I have been under 180 in two or three years.

Wow, congratulation Dave on the weight loss. Good work!

In the midst of cleaning up sawdust all over my condo… bought a circular saw and rip-cut a board to make a jig for adjusting piano dampers to proper response, and realized only afterwards should not do indoors. Will be vacuuming and dusting for the next week. Ordered a Workmate table to use on balcony next time.

Rainy and colder today, more flood watches, turning cold by Sunday and maybe snow. Yuck.

Need to scale back some activities and focus more on basics to get life back in balance. I spend a lot of time helping various people with things, and neglect my own stuff a lot. I know it’s good to be helpful and generous to friends and family, but sometimes not so feasible when it consistently impacts oneself.

Sam, HOAs can be a pain. I feel that computer records, etc., while they seem to be efficient and helpful, actually make it worse for the public who have to use them. Look at medical and credit card records that get hacked so often. I’ve started wondering, what will happen when computer hackers—already a serious problem—start using artificial intelligence to create worse viruses than are already plaguing us. We have a HOA portal, if you can get into it, more like a black hole where requests go and never return to this universe.

    Good Morning

Those of us who live in developments, condos & townhouses all seem to share similar complaints about the HOA management. If you fill out the application you are assured of getting an extraordinary amount of oversight. Like you Sam, my biggest complaint is that people ignore the process and get away with gross violations that result in newer tighter anal guidelines. Somehow they never have to remedy them. Happy is the man who stays under the HOA radar.

Heather and her twin are off for their weekend adventure so I will borrow my son's car to get up to the cancer center. it is a small Hundai with seats that are rough on my back. But I will make it work the best I can. I will finish up tuning the dulcimer when I get home. I am using this weekend to get refocused on my exercises and stretching and getting some walks in now that the weather is nice.

OK trying to get caught up here incl Wed and Thur stuff.
Steve: sorry about the windshield. My insurance doesn't charge for windshield replacement I think because they want me to be driving safely. So no deductible for that so far.
$2500 for the electrical redo. I really should do mine too. We need to have kitchen lighting done too.
I probably need more potassium in my diet with my new eye drop addition. suppose to not be so systemic but I think it does have some effect.

Bill: Hope you are feeling better and fighting off the cold wannabe.
Sam: I agree that much PT is PHYSICAL TORTURE indeed.
Dave: Glad to see ya getting out and walking a bit. I have gotten out for some walks and a couple of super easy peezy bike rides staying upright and not leaning over.

My wife and I eat somewhat differently although we cook the same protein dish and veggies for both of us.

Wow Mike we have mixed feelings about HOA'S and have not had one ourselves. We do have issues with folks parking cars, trucks, and trailers in the street and little recourse really.

Hanging in there with my eye stuff and sleeping at night etc.

    Keep on keepin' on
