Mornin' BBB
Raining and wintry mixing here ALL DAY LONG. Ugh.
Skip, so sorry you are having so much trouble with your back and feeling defeated and betrayed by your own body. You have immense willpower, and that will help get you through this. If you haven't consulted with a rheumatologist to rule out something immune mediated as an underlying condition, it might be a good idea. Just a shot in the dark.
My parents retired in between Jacksonville and St Augustine in a town called Mandarin so they could be close to the Mayo clinic for all my mum's medical issues. Really hope it works out for Ron.

Good morning
Up at 5am on a Sunday is too early, but I went to bed at 9pm. So there's my 8hrs.
Haven't even turned on the TV yet and its 8am now. Been scouring goggle for healthy food prep recipes. Nothing screaming back to make this.
I'm sure dh will be watching football today. I have a paint by number I could start. Haven't done one of those in 50 some years.
Enjoy this day BBB

Morning BBB
Sunday is our brewery day. So headed to a nature trail for a walk first then a flight or two this afternoon. So far florida breweries have been uninspired. Our taste lean west coast IPA style and most here are new England style. They are fine just not great.
We are out of eggs so our pancakes are going to be a little dense today. But I think we will be on the road soon so I hate to buy something we have to toss.
In the market for a cooler that will fit on the rear passenger footwear. Any recommendations that's not YETI...I just can't pay that much for a cooler.0 -
Good morning BBB friends.
Carp Skip. Hang in there. I Googled Confluent heterotopic ossification and I still don't understand it.
I'll take a nice walk this morning, while it's just cloudy, and watch football all afternoon, when the rain returns. I'm pulling for Detroit and KC. I expect both to lose.0 -
Mary here is my favorite recipe.
Black bean chili. It's so versatile. I serve it over roasted sweet potatoes, baked potatoes, as taco salad, as burritos or just as a bowl of chili. It takes several days to make but pretty hands off and would be easier in a crackpot.
1-2 lbs beans. I usually use black or a mix of black and kidney
3 bay leaves
1 yellow onion
3-4 jalapeños
2 cans Rotel diced tomatoes.
Soak bean with bay leaves for 24 hours. Or to speed up boil then let cool for 8 hours. Drain most of liquid. Add all other ingredients plus water to cover. Simmer for 2-6 hours until the desired consistency. I like it very think and the beans very soft. I make this once a week or so. Usually lasts 4 meals depending on how many beans will fit in my pot.2 -
Hey, folks.
Another day, another dumpster.

Good Sunday afternoon BBB Friends.
- I've been churched, schooled and churched again. We had a trial run for a new modern service we are starting. Not my cup of tea but I'm told the younger crowd likes it.
- I'm with you Dave, KC and Detroit. Go Underdogs!
- Hang in there Skip. The right solution will come along.

Thanks Steph! Are the bay leaves the only herb/spice used in this recipe?0

Mary yes the Rotel tomatoes are spicy. I occasionally add red pepper flakes if the jalapeños are weak but I don't tend to travel with many spices so I prefer recipes that don't need much. We eat it guacamole usually and that has cumin and cayenne plus red onion.1
