Healthy Habits to Make February’s Monthly Goals Successful!
Let’s Review: Focus: Set Goals
What is the number 1 thing you can do to stay healthy?
The Mayo Clinic says:
Be physically active for 30 minutes most days of the week. Break this up into three 10-minute sessions when pressed for time. Healthy movement may include walking, sports, dancing, yoga, running or other activities you enjoy. Eat a well-balanced, low-fat diet with lots of fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.
Benefits of Physical Activity
Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.
Adults who sit less and do any amount of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity gain some health benefits. Only a few lifestyle choices have as large an impact on your health as physical activity.
Everyone can experience the health benefits of physical activity – age, abilities, ethnicity, shape, or size do not matter.
What are 3 psychological benefits of regular exercise?
Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function.
Immediate Benefits
Some benefits of physical activity on brain health happen right after a session of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. Benefits include improved thinking or cognition for children 6 to 13 years of age and reduced short-term feelings of anxiety for adults. Regular physical activity can help keep your thinking, learning, and judgment skills sharp as you age. It can also reduce your risk of depression and anxiety and help you sleep better.
So for this Month’s Healthy Goals we will work on Nutrition and Fitness and Be the Best and Healthiest We can Be!

I agree that physical activity has a lot of benefits. For one thing it increases my circulation and I feel warmer. My husband has the fireplace on when he is sitting in his chair and I am sweating in the same environment because I am keeping busy with activities. Some times I think that I need to take a long walk or go exercise for 30 minutes to get good activity but as you said, breaking it up into small increments works too. Just "moving" helps joint pain, my mood and helps keep my weight under control.1
