    Good morning!

Frankie thought that I should get up at 3:03 to let her outside. I tried to ignore her, but she was insistent. I then went back to bed. At 5:00, which is sort of our normal wake up time I got up with her and fed her. I am used to this time, but I was hoping for more sleep.

I have a ton of tasks that I hope to work through today. I need to mow the yard, regular housekeeping chores, and a few errands. I also need to put a new P-trap under Connie's bathroom sink.

    Have a great day!

Overcast and snow flurries this dark morning. Got out yesterday for a walk in the snow on the trails at the local state park. Only about 3 or 4 inches of wet heavy snow, no good for snowshoeing.

Monday I'll be paddling with a friend on the river trip I missed last weekend. Weather looks good--sunny and high of 60º--so we should get the full effect of the eclipse somewhere along the route. Looks like it's a partial eclipse here, but still 95% of the sun blocked. Will look for eclipse glasses somewhere, or make one of those cereal box pinhole projectors. The science books used to tell people to smoke a piece of glass in a candle flame until it was covered in lampblack, and you could look through that, but apparently that doesn't work; now the only DIY sun filter requires you to buy special lens material.

DS said he felt the earthquake here yesterday morning. I didn't notice anything, or the aftershock in the evening. Appears there was some damage in NJ.

Dave, any good pics from your hikes? Never been to PNW area, but the lush forests seem enchanting. Glad to hear you're able to get out in the fresh air once again.

    Well, onward and downward.

    Good morning gentlemen.

We get less than 20 percent of the eclipse, here. The least in the continental U.S. I am surprised by my indifference to it, anyway.

It will be a wet day, with rain all afternoon. Pretty cool, too, with a high of 51. I am ready for warmer weather.

Sassy rarely wakes me. Most mornings I get up and come downstairs around 5 and she follows 10 or 15 minutes later and goes back to sleep next to me. If she woke me at 3 I'd know she was sick to her stomach and REALLY needed to go out.

Here is a photo of my last hike, just for you Mike:

    Good Morning

    That water looks cold!!!

We will likely ignore the eclipse. Heather is a substitute at the pre-school next week so she will be there and the children will be likely be inside. If I get curious I will do the pin hole viewer approach. Our eclipse glasses are long gone. I am not aware of any plans for the day. I have a zoom thing at 9:00. I am planning on cleaning up and doing the floors in the living room/storage room. I am redoing my corner prayer/study area after a small folding table arrives so it is a good time to work on the area. The 5-10lb limit and limited on twisting/bending make it hard to accomplish things without help. But slow and steady is the approach. I got a fast paced short walk in yesterday getting over to the corner store for a small bag of rice when my son realized we didn't have any for his dinner feast he was making us. No pain at all and the only rest was to slow down to pay for the rice. That was encouraging since I have at least 2 more months of restrictions to go.

    Good Afternoon,
They say we will see about a 15% coverage for eclipse, I seen several so no big deal.
Pablo likes to sleep, so if he wakes me up I know he really has to go; has only happened a couple of times.
Worked on breaking up soil in garden this morning, so go with bum leg and shoulder.
Beautiful picture Dave, we do not sites like that around here but do a couple hours north of here.
