Mornin' gents.
Cloudy and cool today. M is going for a nature walk with her sister just over on the NY side then lunch, so me and the girls are on our own until dinner. I have lots to do in the yard, but I may try and catch my dinner this morning.
Praying for you, Bob. Is it possible to increase the time between radiation treatments, or just stop them altogether? I know that sometimes cancer patients have to tough out chemo and radiation treatments, but I have also seen people suffer unnecessarily.
I am getting old. Saw a young lady (probably in her late 30's now-that's still young, right?), who worked for me and M briefly back when our practice was young and rapidly growing. She is now a human physician living a couple of towns away and has a dog that needs a surgical procedure and wants me to do it. It was kinda cool.
So now, come August, there has been an FTC ban on non compete clauses retro active, with some exceptions of course for sellers of company/practice. But when I walk away from the practice, I can do whatever I want since the non compete part of selling the practice will have expired. I would love to just do a house call practice by appointment and do surgery once a week when I hit 65 (20 months away).
I definitely think I overdo the free eggs, and maybe the free fruit too. I eat a couple of apples and a sizeable bunch of grapes daily (who needs laxatives?).
How close are you to making the move north, Bill?
Onwards and downwards ;-)0 -
Church early, then a hike somewhere and visit family afterwards...
Replaced cane mesh on an old canoe seat and put legs on it for a temporary 3rd seat in my canoe. Difficult and delicate job, chiseling out old spline and pressing in new cane into groove, but seat came out very nice looking. It's for a passenger, or for me paddling solo if it's windy--better control of bow and stern with my weight toward the middle. Warming weather has got me thinking of camping somewhere again. I love paddling a few miles to a remote campsite and setting up for a week of campfires, wildlife and sunsets.
Spent time on the phone with DD in Hawaii last week or two, helping her figure out car buying and loans. She found a nice Honda Fit from an 87 year old man and did an online loan application last night. Glad to see her back in the States and getting herself a more regular living situation.
My eye still has noticeable, annoying floaters with occasional flashes, but no changes, so just waiting for 6 week follow up; hoping by then this will have subsided. I keep thinking there's fruit flies in my kitchen or black flies outdoors when it's just floaters in my eye.
Bill, hope you get the digestive issues figured out and some relief from the back. Steve, good luck with the doctor visit. I can't understand how your company prioritizes your time; seems like getting the accounting done has to be a priority and only the accountant can do that work...
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Hope all have a good day. I'll be out here making shavings in the shop. I have been working on a pile of big pieces of maple and cherry that have filled one end of my shop for a year. Only three more to work through and I'll be able to truly clean that area up from all the chips and sawdust.

I am done doing my short course radiation and like many others it is the aftermath that is an issue. I wasn't really expecting quite this much gut issues for sure. I read bill's comments and totally get it.
