@Dean:Sorry to hear about your emergency at home. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that things will be okay. I know how much you love riding your bike and an ice evening walk.
May 13: Brinkley and I did a two hour hike this morning @and a nice evening walk. I am tuckered out from that and lots of grass cutting and yard work.

Thanks for the well wishes. I can really use all the help I can get right now. I'm back on the bike for now so we'll see what I can do to make up lost days.2

CONGRATS on making GOAL to @CLEPANT!!! :drinker:
@SUFFERLANDRIAN - Sorry to hear of an emergency at home. I hope things have resolved and settled down for you and everyone is okay.
Have to leave the house here in a minute to take wife for her 2-week surgery follow-up appointment. She had her other heel spur/achilles tendon repaired and has had to stay completely off of it the past 2 weeks. I got to be her legs and do pretty much everything for her. It's easing up and she's sleeping through the night now so that's good.

Adding 6.2 miles so 9.8/30.
Started doing an Aqua Fit class at my subdivison pool. The instructor just quit working at the gym I work at. Trying to get back to the pool and do more than just read a book. We're severely short of lifeguards at work and they haven't made me try the test yet. No way I'm passing it, the group of six doing it last week all failed and they're all under 30.
Anyone have anything treated using a Summus Laser? A local practice did a presentation at our clubhouse last week on the laser and bursitis, which I'm pretty sure is what's been plaguing my left hip intermittently for years. It treats a variety of issues. I went for the complimentary consult yesterday and ended up doing the first of six treatments over the next two weeks. Even had some time with a TENS unit.

@KAR328 - Can't say I've ever tried the Laser, but I swear by the TENS units! Both wife and I have used them many times over the past few years for various muscle aches and pains. They're a real life-saver. And you can buy the control units, pads, and conductive adhesive gel on Amazon for pennies on what they cost from medical supply stores or clinics! And I really enjoy pool aerobics too. No sweating! What sort of classes are you doing? Like are they continuous movement or Tabata-style (8-10 sets of go hard for 20 secs then rest for 10 secs for each different exercise, etc)? I've done both and like both but I'm still not sure which I prefer. They both have their pros & cons. Both classes also incorporate either pool noodles or some other foam floatie for resistance in the water.
@JANET - You are absolutely correct! When it's that warm that early, it's time to bug out and head to more comfortable temperatures. I'm no fan of hot weather either. Doesn't really matter too much if it's a dry heat or humid enough to cut with a knife...EWWW. Hot is hot.
Another Friday is upon us! WOOHOO!!! I really needed this week to be done. And then next week will be a short one. We're taking Thursday & Friday off to get a head start on some camping over Memorial Day weekend. We're doing a little research....one of our ideas for retirement (or the few years I'm retired and waiting for my wife to retire) we have talked about getting a middle-sized RV (30-ish feet long) and hitting the road. Travel with the wind. Park here and there for a few days and then pick up and move on. So this weekend, we are renting a RV to try it out and see how we like it. If we do like it, we want to try different types, configurations, etc, and start figuring out what type of unit we might like best. Looking forward to relaxing around a campfire and having a beverage while visiting with our friends. There are three couples going (including us) but 2 other couples will be coming for day visits or a single overnight or two. Should be lots of laughs and smiles.
Have a safe and fun weekend!
Dave

@Dave - Sounds like your wife is doing well. We can both relate to being non weight bearing. What a pain! I had a motor home I traveled in for work. When I wasn't working we would travel with the family. It was so much nicer than load the car, unpack the car, load the car, unpack the car. We just kept a supply of things like clothes and dishes in the motor home. It made it easy to just jump in and go. Just stop when you're tired and get supplies like food. I loved it. Now I work too much and the kids can't even be in the same room together. I do miss those days though.
@Janet - I agree with Dave. I don't mind cold but hot is dreadful. You can always put more clothes on but you can only take off so many clothes before they arrest you.2 -

@sufferlandrian - you got it, Dean. Your goal is 400 and you are looking good.
@darkrider42 - Sounds like you are in for a fun adventure. I'll cover for you next week if you'll cover for me Monday to Wednesday while I'm driving north. I'm at 39/50. That should be enough of a cushion to take some days off for the trip.
Take care everyone!1 -
