Good morning!
Another Monday. Five more until I can retire. This Monday I anticipate to be rough. I was ordered to have the financial statement notes and revisions by end of today for the owner's taxes. Honestly, I am so burned out right now. Five weeks cannot get here quickly enough.
I hope that all our wives, mothers, and those we honor all had a great day yesterday. Connie had a very nice Mother's day.
I grilled steaks on the Traeger last night. They were awesome.
I never did get out to weed whack. Darn the luck!
They will be finishing the bath install today, and then the glass company will do the door install tomorrow.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
Girls ran almost flawlessly yesterday and earned Hunt Test ribbons. Got home in time to have dinner with M. The cat and dogs gave her an orchid and a lovely artisanal handmade butterfly card. Our boys reached out from a distance with flowers, calls and texts.
I was super impressed with the lady cooking the burgers and chicken breasts for lunch yesterday. She was using an instant read thermometer! My well done burger was perfect. I usually ask for medium rare because most well done burgers are overcooked.
Ugh, sounds pretty miserable for both you and Collin, Steve. Fingers crossed that you don't punch someone in the face. Oh, that would probably be me, not you.
Back to werk for me. Thankfully my work involves touching dogs and cats and that usually helps calm my inner beast.
I honestly overdid it with food this weekend. I burned through my weekly and activity points and then some. Yikes.
Onward and hopefully, downward ;-)0 -
Mornin'
Paddling this afternoon with a buddy--exploring that river I never got to do because of the detached retina scare. Looking closer at the satellite pictures, I see it may be impassable in several places but we'll find out when we get there. It will be a down and back trip, so we can turn around wherever. Partly sunny and cool today.
Sprayed my hiking clothes with permethrin tick repellent/killer this morning. One tick bite this season was one too many for me.
Steve, sounds like you jumped from frying pan into fire moving to this job. Don't they understand that accounting isn't magic wand stuff? How on earth can they expect accounting results when they have you doing other jobs instead? Jeesh. Very amateurish business people.
Congrats to the girls on the ribbons, Lee. And they have such good taste in Mothers Day Gifts.
Sam, how the leg healing up?

Good morning gentlemen.
Rita worked in her garden all day, yesterday. Her choice. I mowed the lawn.
It will be almost 20 degrees cooler, today, but we will still have some sun. 67 degrees is great, to me. I am rocking some sleeveless running shirts that haven't fit for years. DW says I look great - for a 74-year-old.
Hope the river exploration works out well, Mike.

Good Morning,
Leg feeling much better, DW keeping me in line and following what doctor said; I feel like doing more.
Highs only in 60's today with rain
Hope you have a great canoe trip Mike with smooth paddling.
Cooking any meat to "well" is too done for me; but believe in instant read thermometer when cooking.0 -
Good Morning
Steve, sorry they are being so unpleasant. I can understand them not being thrilled about your stay with them being much shorter than discussed, but people leave jobs every day and at some point they need to Adult-up and work with you to minimize the disruption. Otherwise some people leave early than announced.
Heather had an enjoyable Mother’s Day I think. The kitchen sink situation was bit of a distraction but we relaxed and then all met at the movies to see The Fall Guy. No academy awards forthcoming but it was fairly entertaining and stupid funny. Finished off with burgers. I ended the day with a stiff back and an aggravated gut despite just getting a plain burger on a bun with some ketchup. Plumber coming first thing this morning - late morning. Then we get to finish cleaning up the kitchen. I will have to work in the cardio somehow.0
