I am 46 years old and was diagnosed last week with type 2 diabetes. I was prescribed metformin and at the recommendation of my doctor I am starting off with 1 pill once a day and gradually working my way up to 2 pills twice a day. I also gave up caffeine, alcohol, and junk food and started eating more fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains. I really need get more exercise. I get about 5,000 steps in a day at work, but really want to reach my goal of 10,000 steps. I am also interested in finding some healthy diabetic friendly recipes and snack ideas, so I don’t get tired of eating the same foods everyday and fall back into old eating habits.
