Sharpening my trimming knife so I can prepared my untrimmed, 16 lb brisket and season it so I can start smoking it around 6 PM so it will be done and have a couple of hours to rest before being served tomorrow afternoon.
Going to attack poison ivy today and finish planting tomatoes and peppers.
Pre planning what I allow myself to consume tomorrow. I will try to limit the brisket. It will be hard. I love good BBQ, and I do good BBQ. My plan is to give away all the left over brisket to the meat eaters at the clinic the following day so I do not eat on all week.
Sadly, dining will be indoors tomorrow due to rain the forecast.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Mornin'

Another gorgeous weather day today. Thinking about camping trips I could go on this summer. One of my sons wants to come with me to a northwoods lake remote site, which would be cool. Drive all day, paddle 5 miles and nobody else there usually. Except the mosquitoes. Maybe in August. I like to go and stay a week or more, but he'll have to work, so maybe 3-4 days only, but still good.

    Onward and downward ;)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Another soggy, chilly day here. High in the 50s again. It should be a bit better, tomorrow, but I won't be smoking a brisket. Maybe I'll fix some brats with sauerkraut. Just the two of us, anyway.

Church this morning, then we have to shop for a fridge and range. Holiday sales.

Not a great job trimming to shape but I was rushed. Wanted to get it done before M got home and stressed about her contaminated kitchen.
It'll sit in cooler until ready to start smoking at 6 pm. I'll be using pecan.

    Good Morning

We will be having a tri tip tomorrow. It is in the fridge awaiting Weber time tomorrow. We are off later this morning to the San Ramon Wind & Art Festival. We haven’t been in many many years. it is at the large business park where I worked for many years. Fesitval food will be challenging on many levels so I will be cautious. We are warming up into the 70’s today so it should be a beautiful day, though not much wind for the kite flying that is usually part of this.
