Good morning!
I have March and April finished now, except that I cannot get the financials to print correctly. I think it is because we still have February open in the computer. The owner and the other CPA came in yesterday but they behaved. My stress levels are through the roof, and I don't know how to get myself calmed down.
I'm glad to hear that everyone appears to be doing OK right now. Mike, I hope that you get encouraging news about your swelling.
Have a great day!0 -
Got beds prepped and got all plants in over the weekend. Small garden, so I use a spade to turn, but I use a power drill with an auger to make the holes for the transplants. Now I need to mulch. May need to spray as well, already seeing some insect activity. If even half the heirlooms I planted make it, I will have tomatoes aplenty come late July and August. Mouth is watering thinking about first BLT.
Brisket came out almost perfect. My wrap of butcher paper leaked at the flat end and thus created the first three slices of the flat end that was just a bit on the dry side. Rest of the brisket was $$$. Great bark. I have settled on using Worcestershire sauce as the binder, Lawry's seasoned salt and a pepper heavy rub called Killer Hog.
Took all left over brisket to the BBQ challenged people at work. Still having to deal with BBQ baked beans and dill potato salad in the fridge.
Not sure why, but was awake all night. No coffee after 1 PM, reasonable dinner, did not have an alcoholic drink. Woke up at midnight wide awake. Read a little bit and had a wee dram of scotch and then tried unsuccessfully to get back to sleep. Today is gonna require lots of caffeine which will in turn mess with my sleep tonight. Vicious cycle.
I would look at my (your) considerable accomplishment of finishing March an April, Steve, and consider it highly commendable under significant duress. If you were under my command in the Army, I would put you up for a service medal.
Onward and downward ;-)

Mornin...
Doc examined and told me at first that it was just veins slowing down--old age--but by end of visit ordered a stat doppler ultrasound to rule out a blood clot. Not sure if I'm more nervous about blood clot or the doctor's indecision. She had thought since no pain, redness or heat that it was nothing to worry about, and just told me to wear compression socks, but something made her change her mind. I go this morning to the hospital for the ultrasound. Should get results quickly, later this morning.
DD arrives in Boston today. Been 1 1/2 years since we all saw her. Really looking forward to seeing her.
Hope to get in a long walk today at some point.
Have a good one...

Good morning gentlemen.
Had a productive trip to a local appliance store to find a new fridge and range. This is going to cost more than my first three cars, but so it goes.
Hope the tests come out clear, Mike.0 -
Good Morning,
Congrats Steve on monthly close,
Praying all is good on leg Mike, as we age I believe medical field looks at Medicare and our insurance supplement and all they see are dollar signs.
Well my first car cost $150, my second car was $300, and third was around $1,600 new, so yes a good stove would cost more than my first three cars.
Brisket pics are making me crave BBQ, price of brisket has doubled in past year.
Little cooler today highs should be mid 80's
Need to go get bath and drive DW to physical therapy, leg still will not move if she is sitting.0 -
Good Morning
Mike, I am surprised the Doc didn’t order the scan since that is pretty routine for unexplained swollen leg in older folks.
Appliance costs were a shock to us last year when we replaced ours. I love that they make you buy a power cord as an extra. I had a good and productive day yesterday. Got my workout in along with an extra short walk, got some chores done etc. Gut had a pretty good day which helped. I hope to repeat today though I have to wait till late afternoon to be able to get to the gym since Heather is working till 3:00.0 -
Brisket is making my mouth water...
Leg ultrasound came out fine-- no clots. Relieved for that. For now I'll wear the compression socks as PCP suggested. No real explanation for swelling, though. I think I might ask cardiologist to weigh in whether there's other reasons and if should be concerned.0
