    Good morning gentlemen.

Up really early, this morning, for a long drive to a trailhead. I am doing a favorite hike I haven't been to in two years: Buckhorn Pass, in Buckhorn Wilderness, in the Olympic Mountains. I saw a report that the trail is mostly snow-free and I couldn't resist. It's a long drive with significant time on rough Forest Service roads - just what I bought the pickup to handle.

    Good morning!

    Have an awesome hike, Dave.

They worked on cutting down trees in our yard all day yesterday. They still have one stump to remove today, so I won't be headed to the lake. It was so very hot. It is just nasty outside with the humidity. I am going to eat a quick breakfast, and then head out to water. I might rain tomorrow morning which we really need. This very long/hot/humid weather just keeps going on with no break. It is frustrating.

Bill, prayers continue. I pray that the antibiotics are helping. I also hope that your exercising will also improve your quality of life. Hang in there!

    Have a great day!

    Mornin ' gents

Have a great hike, Dave. It does sound irresistible.
Hope those trees come down safely, Steve.
I done the frozen technique, the sear then indirect heat technique, under the broiler technique, direct heat only, but I keep going back to the reverse sear for optimal results.
Sitting in the urology exam room. He'll do the obligatory finger wave, and discuss my PSA results that are currently unknown to me.

    Onward and downward ;-)

Wow! sounds wonderful Dave!!! Hike on!
Still one more chilly start to the day in the PacNW but creeping later into the low 70s I think in PDX.
Keeping Bill in my thoughts and prayers that he continues to improve.
Good luck with your PSA results Lee.
My Dad did reverse sear 60 years ago when it had no name. Just took round steak out of the freezer and cooked it in a pan. It came out pretty good.
    Have a great day all!

    Good Morning

Sounds like a great hike is on hand Dave. Newish truck, newish back and an old trail….Enjoy!

A good day yesterday. Warm up and hip mobility are really helping. The tightness that develops when walking etc seem to have lessened quite a bit. Only issue doing cardio now is my endurance on the gym machines. That I assume will take time. We did some weeding in the heat of the day. After 30-40 minutes in the sun we were feeling it and wrapped it up. Big deep rooted stuff is out. More today. A couple more days and we can finish cleaning up back there. Hopefully I can get two walks in today around the neighborhood. The antibiotics seem to be doing something. Hopefully I am on my way back to normal and will be able to resume eating healthier stuff like salads, fruit and whole grains in a few weeks and I can focus on healthy eating and weight loss. Perhaps I will get some coffee back in my life.

Haven't checked in since Saturday... Had a good father's day, kids called or visited, DD had me over for air fried salmon, and two sons took me out on Sunday for a burger and onion rings (and ice cream...)

Yesterday another DGD "graduated" from middle school... and the we all went out for ice cream.

This morning at bible study a woman brought luscious looking chocolate cake layered with whipped cream and chocolate pudding, leftover from Father's Day. Urrp. This is getting ridiculous. Onward and up in flames...

I ran into a woman from church who looked very different from the last time I'd seen her, maybe a month or so ago. Turns out she'd lost 50 pounds on a program called Reverse 180. Also turns out it costs $200/week.

Was up till 11:30 watching the NBA finals at DS's--great game--but woke as usual at 5 AM. Got out for an early walk for an hour before bible study. It's 90º+ today. Got alerts on my phone that the 911 system is down across the state. Hope nobody needs an ambulance or has a fire.

Dave, hike sounds awesome. I love visiting those remote locations.

Stay cool in the heat everyone.

…correction. The lady I mentioned uses Awaken 180 and it runs $3-6K for 6 months!
