Pea soup humidity this morning, though not hot yet, only 70 here. Nice paddle around the lake yesterday with a swim half-way through. Saw a pair of loons close up, and a bald eagle soared overhead.
Looking forward to a change of scene camping next week, and other places and times this summer. It's a refreshing reset to get away from all of modern life for a time and declutter the brain and the senses a bit. And the beauty of nature gives back some perspective to the rest of life.
Chores around the place this morning, and some preliminary packing for next week away.

Good morning gentlemen.
Around here, mid-80s passes for a heat wave. Today it will cool, with a high in the mid-70s, before mid-60s, tomorrow. Pretty pleasant, really.
My chainsaw broke. I hauled home a truck full of really big Madrone logs (my friend lifted them into the bed with the front loader on his tractor). I couldn't get my saw started and when I tried to remove the spark plug to clean it, the lead wire broke. It will be more than a week before the shop can get to it. I managed to cut up the logs with my electric chain saw, but I won't be able to get the rest of that black walnut until the gas saw is repaired.
We'll have the grandkids until tonight, sometime. At their request, I'll make baked mac and cheese for their last supper with us.0 -
Good Morning
We are expected to have a one day heat spike up toward triple digits. We have no plans at present. Heather worked all week and all next week (her last). Typically she likes to take it easy on the weekend. A couple rough days gut wise seem to be over so I will keep busy around here.
Mac and cheese sounds good.0 -
Good afternoon!
Hot and humid here, and so it will be for at least another week. Ugh!
Connie and I got out and went to Menard's this morning. We picked up a few items that we needed, and a few items that we didn't need.
My focus today will be on things inside the house. I have been working in the yard/garden for roughly an hour each morning. I had to take a break today as I am very stiff and sore. I need to get back into shape. I'm averaging about 7500 steps a day. I am continuing to work that up some.
I hope that everyone has a great day!0
