    1. Some fun things I plan to do in July:
πŸ₯³ Celebrate with family for DYGS’s birthday next Sunday, and our 58th Wedding Anniversary on 28th celebrate 🍾
🚀 Spend time on our boat, weather permitting.
Have some days out enjoying the delights of our beautiful Province of Northern Ireland.
Spend time with an old friend from Austria who is coming over here on holiday.
    2. The habit I plan to focus on this month: Flexibility ~ I made a good start on this in June, and will continue to focus on it this month.

    My half year reflection:
πŸ’  continued to develop and consolidate solid habits which support my desire for as fit and healthy a life as possible for as long as possible.
πŸ’  maintained within my desired weight range, and stayed active.
πŸ’  enjoyed a number of terms at Hogwarts School of Magic, one of my favourite challenges on MFP
πŸ’  participated in a number of accountability challenges
πŸ’  enjoyed my volunteer roll as a group leader in a number of groups in our local U3A, a charity promoting lifelong learning.
πŸ’  enjoyed a large number of leisure activities with and without family members.

    Wow! Everyone is doing great!

@PackerFanInGB , you are doing marvelously! What’s the name of the book/plan you’re following - it sounds really interesting. From now on I’m counting the cinnamon in my oatmeal as a serving of vegetables! I should - I use enough!

@macrat12 it’s wonderful that you are consistently hitting that high goal! Bravo!

Well, that’s a great sign that you are more flexible @TerriRichardson112 ! After all, we are doing flexibility training for functional mobility, so being able to pick things up off the floor more easily is a huge win!

July 9 - today my dumbbell challenge routine had curtsey lunges. That’s something I need to work on. Since I do English Country Dancing, it’s embarrassing that I can’t curtesy to save my life. Not only am I getting stronger, I’m getting better at honoring my partner when I dance!

July 10 - I really had to push myself to get my dumbbell challenge done today. But I had a few minutes before a timer went off, so I did it! Extra proud of myself.

Yay! Another week of 5 dumbbell challenge days! I am stronger than yesterday. I’m also much stronger than the 12th of last month! Today was leg day, and I wasn’t sure if I should do it since I any to save myself for dancing. But I did.

I've been good at staying in calorie deficit these past two weeks, fairly good at going for walks, but not so great at taking exercise snacks.

I'm really pleased at being able to cut out chocolate and sweets (except for ice-cream).

I weighed out and bagged up mixed nuts and dried fruit (about 350 calories) for days when I don't have much time for breakfast or stopping for lunch. It's amazing how a nibble on these keeps hunger pangs at bay. It's all too easy to consume a ton of calories with these, so weighing and bagging in advance prevents that.

I'll make more of an effort to get exercise snacks into my daily habits.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

@TerriRichardson112 and @macrat12 you diligence and consistency are always inspiring!

@BodyTalking taking walking and staying in a calorie deficit are foundational habit, so don’t beat yourself up too much about skipping your exercise snacks. Making individual bags of nuts is a terrific idea. I need to do this. I often avoid nuts just because I know they are a weakness of mine and I am liable to eat too many. Measured servings are a good way to avoid overeating.

@BodyTalking , one of the ways to create tiny (or atomic) habits like your exercise snacks is to tie it to something you always do. For instance, I often do pushups against the kitchen counter while microwaving something. I can usually bust out 10 counter pushups in 30 seconds.

    Hi all,
Been sick and low energy with respiratory infection most of the month. Mindful of eating, usually met step goal but not always other PA GOAL.
And that's ok. Self compassion. Doing multiple 10 min PA snacks and last 2 days met food and PA GOALS. 🎢
Using mindfulness for habits.. it's better than autopilot for me and for many athletes.

    Take good care

@Michaela_LaGata , I’m sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather. It’s important to show self-compassion at such time, but if you’re able to get those snacks of physical activity, you must be getting better.

@macrat12 , you are doing great. It seems like you’re finding the step-bets very motivating.

I had a wonderful time visiting with my sister and at Costume College.

    Hi Everyone!

    July 23
    No eating out
    1,200-1,500 cals per day
Figuring out my exercise given 90+ degree heat

Battling chronic loose stools etc since med changes in April. Contacted PCP who deferred to Gastro who did a bunch of tests - ALL Normal who then said it could be medication related. Contacted cardiologist who only replied about the meds I don’t need to test. About to write to her again.

I am also sleeping better but sleepier during the day

Right hip pain has made my beloved waking less fun & combined with the fatigue & re-start of more workmen arriving g early for paint, floor refinishing and now new heating A/C. Lots of
Moving things out of the way of each team

I am trying a new way of eating to see if my symptoms go away - low fiber, low fat
    Fingers crossed I get better

On the good news front I sold a piece of art & received very positive feedback on a number of completed pieces.

My focus now is only eating at home, low calorie, and getting my walking back up.

You blink and even after 5 years the weight can β€œpop”
    Back on.

    Disappointed in myself
But have made peace with myself.

    Best
    Maddie

Also, for a fun challenge this week, try visiting the Festival of Hogwarts celebration of 10 years of the Hogwarts Weightloss Challenge on MFP

You can tell them @77tes sent you, but I don’t think you really need a password. Maybe I’ll see you in the castle. 🏰

Hi, I hope you're all doing well.

My habit building didn't go as I'd hoped this month but I have the rest of the year to get on top of it. I know I've mentioned elsewhere but almost all of my joints are in pain and I'm seeing a new doctor next week. This has meant that I've barely done anything habitual this month.

However, today I spent some time organising documents with links to all of the challenges and groups I've joined this summer. Yesterday, I spent ages searching for one and, even though I had it bookmarked, I just couldn't find it - it was a different name than I thought. So, I now have a sheet for each group and the challenges within. I shouldn't miss out on information and lose track of which ones I've already worked on or which ones slipped to the bottom of my list.

I'm ready to get my thinking cap on for 'No Snowballs In August'!

@BodyTalking - I’m sorry to hear that you’re in so much pain. It’s hard to do anything when you’re feeling so bad. Hugs πŸ«‚

Only one day left in July!
