    Good morning!

Frankie would not go outside last night because of the fireworks. The back side of that is that she woke me at 3:50 this morning. I always have trouble getting back to sleep after that, but a nap will be in store this afternoon.

We had 2.26 inches of rain yesterday morning. Parts of the metro had over 7 inches. We are expecting heat indexes over 110 today, and storms tonight. Sweet (not). I'm going to try to go outside and do a little work after it gets light. I need to weed/stake the tomatoes, and I have a rose bush that I bought a couple of weeks ago that I still need to plant.

    Have a great day!

    Happy belated Birthday to Sassy.
DW is finally at her Airbnb in Ansbach after canceled flight, delayed flights, and lost baggage. Heightened threat alert on all European US military bases makes it impossible to get into base or military housing. She is all alone in her Airbnb. DDIL is meeting her there with DGS. DS#1 is having to pull armed security at Katterbach Air Base at night. Hoo boy.
Relief doc yesterday was amazing. Too bad she doesn't want full time.
Down another 1.5 lbs. Meant to mention this a bit ago, WW app bumped me from 39 to 44 points when I got under 260 lbs. Am now 255 and still no change in points allowed. Weird, but still losing.
Steve, you are up awful early for a retired guy.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

I got up at 3:50, too, Steve, but voluntarily. Heading for Mt. Rainier National Park, for another hike, and need to get in the gate before 7 a.m. After that I'd need a timed entry reservation. Planning the toughest hike yet, this season, but should be spectacularly beautiful.

Great job on the losing, Lee. Keep it up. That's tough about the security situation in Ansbach. Even in the days of the Bader Meinhof Group and the Red Army Faction we could escort U.S. citizens onto the installations, and there were actual attacks and bombings being carried out.

    Good Morning

    Nicely done Lee!

I was awake at 4 as well. Pretty typical these days and the heat doesn’t help. Busy day yesterday. Plumber did a great job. I can’t believe how expensive even simple plumbing jobs can be. But all is working and the cold water is now working and has no drips. I found out Home Depot also switched the hoses when they did the installation which they fixed as well. Triple digits so perhaps a trip to the mall for a walk is in order. The gym is uncomfortable on days like this. I had a small salad last night with dinner to see if the system would tolerate it which it barely did. I am eager to get back on the WW plan, but I need to be able to eat some normal food, like fruit and vegetables.

    Good Morning,
Picked beans and tomato, okra should be ready to pick by end of week when beans will have to be picked again.
Pablo has had his morning walk 2.17 miles,
    DW has been to PT
Drug store to pick up more drugs that I did not order but cardiologist called yesterday and said I needed,
I have a dental cleaning this afternoon,
Hope you have a great hike Dave and post pictures,

Our tomatoes are much slower than yours. We have just had a mostly cold spring and now jumping up in temps. My plants look great and finally removed the wall-o-water units around them. "Flowering and some tiny fruit just starting. Didn't plant Brandywine as it may be a short season.
Mt Ranier is another special place. Rode my bike the long way up to Paradise on Mt Ranier from sea level in Olympia and back again (200 miles in a day and beaucoup climbing). Those days are over.

Will be w/o internet a few days.

    Cheers.

    Good afternoon…

Lee, that’s a shame about DW not allowed to get to their home. World is a mess, I guess.

Succumbed to Bible Study crullers this morning… Doing laundry and learning to file replacement piano ivories (fake) in between loads of wash. Finished one octave and will see how well they fit in piano.

I think I lost some pounds camping, but haven’t weighed myself before breakfast yet. Camping is like a day long gym workout—lots of walking, hill climbing, bending and squatting, planks and sit-ups, and some lifting. Plus I paddled, hiked and rode my bike. Of course there’s some road food involved, often not healthy.

    Onward and downward.
