Distant fireworks until midnight. My girls don't care, but I heard some howling from other dogs.
Reverse seared a ribeye yesterday with sauteed mushrooms, bacon wrapped cream cheese jalapenos (4), dill potato salad, and a huge green salad. Ridiculous. 70 pts for the day, burned through a lot of activity and weekly points that I usually try not to touch. Feel cruddy this am. This is what happens when I'm not being supervised by DW.
Hope all had a nice Fourth.
Muggy here this am. Thunderstorms and rain this afternoon and into tomorrow.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Lee, you beat Steve by one minute, so I'll post here.

Our 4th was low-key, too. I grilled some brats and cooked sauerkraut and onions to go with them. We watched the Capitol 4th concert on PBS. Sassy doesn't care about fireworks - she would have been a good gun dog, I think - but was very interested in the smell of gunpowder when she went out in the back yard.

A two-pound bump is nothing Steve. You know all the cliches: it's a marathon, not a sprint, etc. On the other hand, eating junk is a choice. Don't eat junk.

Have an appointment at the Toyota dealer, where a guy is going to work out with me how to enter GPS coordinates in the navigation system. I have to say, the old GPS we had stuck on the dashboard of our trusty Rav4, was much easier to use than either of the built-in systems on our Honda CRV or the Toyota Tacoma. Google or Apple systems work well in civilization but need cell signals. I need a satellite capable navigation assist to get to remote trailheads.

    Mornin'

Visited DS yesterday where we watched the extra innings of a Red Sox game and had some grilled chicken. Well, fire-blackened chicken. It's the thought that counts. Later watched some of a 4th of July Twilight Zone marathon on the Sci Fi channel. (Who knew that existed?) He and I planned out a week-long camping trip for mid-August. We'll see how that goes. Will have to start planning meals...

Humid as heck this morning and reaching 90's, and my AC seems to not be working. Will try changing the air filter and if not, then calling the repair guy.

Enjoy the long weekend, those who are still working.

    Onward and downward.

    Good Morning

We had a very low key 4th. Mostly we tried to stay cool. I didn’t go out except to grill some Chicken Kebobs. I completely forgot about the Capital Fourth on PBS. Not many illegal fireworks went off this year. I think people are mostly staying put do to the extreme heat. We will have to run to the store today to get some things for tonights dinner. My son is making lettuce wraps. I am trying to start tracking again as first steps. I have no imagination on how to lose weight while on a diet based on not aggravating my gut which leaves out WW go to foods. But I need to at least try and see what I can figure out till I get past this. I hope to engage Heather in getting moving on packing and decluttering again. We are more than ready to move to the coast
