Congrats Steve! I'm pretty sure I haven't been under 160 since the 9th grade.
Being on the water sounds like the place to be on these hot and muggy days here in New England. 4 yr old DGS had a blast, I'm sure.
Cooling off a wee bit this morning. Yesterday was so muggy, I did some tomato plant pruning early, went to grocery store for fresh veggies and fruit and skim milk, and then laid low next to a fan and sipped iced sugar free tonic water the rest of the day. Cooked up some turkey burgers on the grill to eat on for the week. I usually just cook them from frozen, but got the idea to try doing them smash burger style. I thawed them out, added a little worcestershire sauce, and then smashed them on top of thinly sliced onions on a super hot griddle on top of my gas grill. Added a ultra thin slice of swiss cheese at the end. Used half of a toasted focaccia bun to make an open faced burger. Pretty good. Cheddar would have been better and I was skeptical of using the focaccia bun because they are so heavy, but thinly sliced and toasted it wasn't too heavy and it held up to the burger.
Over fed myself again. Still trying to get the hang of this bachelor thing.
Face timed with M and DGS this morning. M is reveling in grandmotherhood.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning!

Lee, your creation sounds good. I'm glad that Mary is having such a great time.

Mike, it sounds like your son was lucky! I'm glad that you had a great outing with him and your DGS.

We did absolutely nothing yesterday. I do like the day of rest.

I am headed out early this morning for a bike ride before it gets too hot. The first part of the week is supposed to be OK, but the second part of the week returns to hot and humid. I will also be getting my kayak out either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Sam, it is good to hear that you are walking so much again. What was the resolution on your knee?

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Another hot one in store for today - 97, this afternoon. I'll be sweating this morning, when I go over to retrieve four more big rounds of black walnut. I need to cut them up with my chainsaw, haul the pieces around the house and load them in the truck, then reverse the procedure at home. Rita will help as much as she can. My two mantras: "lift with your legs" and "move slowly."

    Mornin'

Another hot one today, probably 90º, which I guess isn't that hot for some places, but I'll be hiding in my A/C'd condo most of the day. I thought the compressor was shot, but tried a #8 filter instead of #11, and thankfully it works great again. Restricted airflow must've been creating ice buildup on the cooling fins which blocked airflow even more....

Lee, your smash-burger sounds great; I'll have to try that.

Trying to find campsites in VT or NY for my son and I in August, but so far there's nothing like the remote lakes of northern Maine. Checking out the Adirondacks next... We're trying to merge 3 days on Lake George into 4 more in a remote area on a big lake (no motorboats, houses, highways, RVs, boom boxes, etc.)

Bill, stay cool; those temps are absurd.

Lee, enjoy bachelorhood while it lasts.

    Good Morning

Dave, can’t you use a wheelbarrow to move the wood around from the back yard out to your truck?

We didn’t get all the drop in temps predicted but at least we squeezed under 100 barely so we stayed inside. Today we should get down to the lower 90s. Heather and I are resuming morning walks after I do the Daily Office. It should be in the 70s by then. I am pushing to have a productive week. I am calling a recommended Naturopathic Dr today that was recommended to me to set an appointment to try and get my gut issues further along.

Bill, I have a dolly I use to roll heavy pieces where they need to go. Really easier than a wheelbarrow, and easier to transport to the site. I'm not trying to carry 80-pound chunks of wood in my old arms.

    Good Afternoon,
Stress test this morning, I think all was good, but they will confirm by end of week.
Pablo had learned how to jump over fence, bless his heart, have raised area where he kept jumping out.
Have to go get DSIL's vehicle, she had to have new brakes front and rear.
Got rain overnight, now back to HOT and HUMID.
