Been a couple of weeks for a social spot. @peoriapole I hope your legs has been better and you enjoyed your vacation! Also wondering if you joined the 5% Challenge you talked about? I joined in the spring but wasn't fully in it. Trying again for the Summer one.
@HollyStormCloud Keep wondering if you have set a goal to complete your 4M? Or Set a new goal for the year?

I didn't hit the 5%, more like 4.something%...I'm in Mission Slimpossible and will continue with the summer challenge.0

@renae149 , my goal to complete the 4 million is end of August, though that might be a little bit difficult as I have a one week business trip to New Jersey in August and will be stuck in conference rooms 8 hours a day. By the end of the year I'd like to pull 6 million, but that would mean a daily average of over 16,000 steps a day.
@peoriapole , when I first came over here from SparkPeople, I joined the 5% challenge (which actually originated on Spark) and the team I was assigned to chose that name, Mission Slimpossible. I personally disliked the name because it is so unoriginal and overused, but that wasn't my biggest problem with the team. The members, at that time, treated it more like a social club with a fitness motif than an actual competitive team. We came in last every single week. Our numbers were abysmal compared to other teams. I tried encouraging people to "hit it harder", but alas, it fell upon deaf ears. It was so frustrating that I left the team after my first term. I do hope they finally picked up the ball and ran with it. I'm sure they are happy to have you on the team. You certainly hit it hard here.0 -
I have seen lots of people mention the Spark thing. I was on Tenacious Gr8ters. There is a LOT to follow, but not much challenge. I agree with the social club feeling. I've asked to join a different group, but so far I just keep getting reminders to join the Tenacious Gr8ters. Definitely need more challenge and less 3 page posts.
@HollyStormCloud you were worried about another trip and knocked your steps out of the park! I think you mentioned at the beginning of the year that your steps will decrease towards the end of the year, mine start to increase around October.0 -
Slimpossible did become more competitive, I think we ranked around 3rd, I never pay that much attention to it. I just got notice this morning that I didn't sign up in time and have been moved to Rain Dancers. I've been on several teams over the years.
The main benefit for me is accountability, just a place to record my steps, exercise minutes, and weekly weigh in. The challenges were great for me when I first started back on SparkPeople, now they are mostly habits I have developed or things I am not going to do. But when I skip a season or two, the weight comes back on and I am starting over again.0 -
All thought I have been a member of MFP since like 2016 or so, this is the first year I have utilized the community. Sounds like I just need to start.0

I'm coming up on 3 years with MFP. So many of us long termers from Spark came over here when they changed their format.
You guys might want to checkout the Ultimate Accountability group here. It is monthly and it really isn't time consuming. You just have to report in for 4 categories every day:
1. Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
2. Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
3. Did I keep track of all the calories I ate or drank?
4. Pass days (3+ is fine if you reach the max)?
You are allowed 3 pass days each month and it starts anew every month. I have found it helpful in keeping me accountable. At the end of each month, if you haven't used more than 3 pass days you go into the Winner's Circle. If you have used more than 3, but have checked in every single day, you go into the Champion category.0 -
Thanks-I'll look into that even though I am not much of a tracker. I liked Sparkpeople tracking, and I haven't found another free one that I like. But I should get back to it.0

Tracking is where I need to get back to for sure!0
