    Glad to hear you are getting some cooler weather, Steve. I am surprised that the crime and murder rates haven't doubled in KC with the insane heat you all have been experiencing out there. Usually, higher temperatures tend to increase violent crime. Maybe it has just been too darn hot for people to do bad things.

    Humongous brisket going on for a low and slow smoke on the pellet smoker tonight. I am going to try something new. Competition BBQers use injection, so I am going to try injecting the flat of the brisket to minimize drying out and maximize flavor.
    My Rheum doc says I am amazing, but that I am not getting any younger. He did refer me to a pain management doc for my chronic pain.
    I guess Mike has gone camping.

    Good morning gentlemen.

    Doc Lee, Sassy seems to have eaten the silicone head from a kitchen spatula. We found the handle on the floor with no sign of the head. Is this something we should worry about? She hasn't behaved in an unusual way - other than lying in her timeout corner for more than an hour after we came home and discovered the crime. I can't imagine she could have swallowed the thing whole, but we didn't find any fragments on the floor.

    Hope Sam is doing better. Shoulders are slow to heal.

    Good morning!

    We woke up yesterday to a crew milling our street. I think we have the original paving from 1978. Today, they are milling our cross street. I can't believe it!

    After all that wild hot weather, last night, we broke a record cold for this date. I'm not complaining!

    Sam, it sounds like you are healing well. May it continue.

    I imagine Sassy wrestled the spatula head off and in victory stashed it somewhere safe. I hope she is alright.

    Just a few errands on tap today and plenty of things around the house to take care of. Perhaps I will do some of them.
