Good morning.
I was driving into work when the first tower was hit. We were glued to a TV in the conference room.
Our office was overlooking O'hare. We watched all the planes coming in to land and park. And then it was quiet. Very uncomfortably quiet.0 -
That day, month, year and more, was heart sinking, stomach dropping to feet, the worst feelings ever. Eerily quiet, thereafter, as Lou recalled. Prayers go out, still.

- I remember watching the TV news in a conference room in Atlanta and watching the plane hit the 2nd tower. What was strange was the TV anchor obviously wasn't watching the live feed (behind him) and didn't mention it.
- I'm afraid to today's young adults it's just history. I suppose we were the same way about WWII.
- A couple years later I was in an American Express conference room in NYC looking down on the whole where the Towers once stood. Never forget.

Out here on the West Coast I was eating breakfast when coverage began on TV of the first tower being hit in what seemed a tragic accident. When the second plane struck, I ran to the car and left for the office. As a public affairs officer on a major military installation, it was a very long day.0 -
Remember 9-11-2001 very well and yes that was a generation ago, but we need to teach future generations so that it is guarded and not allowed to happen again. Same reason we need to continue teaching history. And without me getting on another rant history is history it should not change many years later. Also, we have a math teacher in neighborhood who was complaining about high schoolers who could not do simple math without a calculator because we no longer require children in 3rd grade to learn times tables and simple math.0

I was getting ready for work...today show on. Call my boyfriend Ron to tell him then left for work before tower 2 got hit. Ultimately mall closed and we were all sent home.
Security was tight in Omaha as air force one arrived soon after to nearby ofutt air force base.0
