    Morning BBB

Got some fall mums at Aldis for $4.99 yesterday. If that's of any interest to anyone looking for cheap fall porxh decor. I Added 4 staggered pots and a pumpkin.

I met ddil and dgs at a park yesterday for play and I brought a picnic lunch. Nice break to the day. Then sat for them last night so they good go out for their 3rd Anniversary dinner.

I'm at lake this weekend with a friend I worked with for years. She needs a getaway. She's Bern diagnosed with onset of some memory disease. I'm sure she'll share more in person. Sad.

I recovered 7k in lost revenue for the new business owner. Trying to decide if me suggesting a split is a good idea. Coming up on 3yrs with no pay increase since he bought company out. Thoughts?

    Have a good day BBB

    Good morning BBB crew.

Mary, I couldn't bring myself to ask for a raise during my 10-years working as a civilian. It just wasn't in my personality to do so. I was editor of the installation newspaper for six years, though, which was chosen the best in the Army four times and best in the entire DoD three times and I was never given a merit-based pay raise, while the general's secretary got one every year. That was a major factor in my retiring early.

Cool, cloudy day and our lawnmower has my name on it.

    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • I got to sleep in this morning which was greatly appreciated.
    • Nice lunchtime motorbike ride yesterday. Planning to head to Natural Bridge, VA in 2 weeks with my BMW buddies but the long-range forecast looks wet. Let's hope it improves.
    • Mary, I think I would schedule a call with the boss to 'celebrate' the 7k recovery and then point out some of your other accomplishments and then mention you haven't had a raise in 3 years. It doesn't have to be a hard press. It sounds like you are pretty happy with your work @ home arrangement.
    • Hard to believe I've been retired for 7 years.

    Good Morning,
    Started day with Emmaus group,
nothing planned but may go have some blood drawn or wait till tomorrow,
Hope they let me lose sling and brace tomorrow, it's been six weeks. 42 more PT sessions to go.
I never received a raise when I asked for one, remember at J C Penny stockroom workers ask for a raise and three weeks later they got a penny an hour raise, they would walk pass store managers office and toss pennies into it.

Ask for the increase Mary. I got every raise I asked for. In hindsight should have asked for more. Be prepared with not only this $7k but several key accomplishments. In the early days of my retail career (when we did 10- 20% yoy increases) I asked for $1000/yr every time I took on a new responsibility. My store manager switched our departments often so sometimes it was 2 or 3 times a year. If she asked me to manage the outerwear department I asked for $2k...it was harder work.

Our last full day here. It's a busy one. Gym this morning then home for laundry and Ron's massage. I'll pack my clothes while I hang out in the bedroom. Then after lunch I'll finish packing the kitchen and put the decor back to the way it started.

Expat happy hour and dinner. We turn the keys over at 8:15 am so want to be 99% packed before i go to bed...I am not a morning person. Ron gets up early so I assume we will make a couple of trips to the car before I even get up. If we load the bikes when we get home tonight he can so the rest without help.
