Good morning!
Frankie decided that it was time to get up at 4:30 this morning. Sigh... After taking her outside, and feeding her and the cat, etc., I just find it hard to go back to sleep right away. Perhaps a nap later.
I have a lot that I'd like to get done today. I took it easier yesterday.
Mike, I'm glad that you had an awesome camping trip. I am very envious.
The NASCAR races are at Kansas Speedway this weekend. Since we only live 2 miles from the track, we can hear the cars. We have been walking just on the other side of I-70 from the track. It amazes me how many campers follow the racing circuit. We have not attended the races ourselves for many years now.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
(((Frankie))) Does the noise from the speedway bother her?
Beautiful scenery, Mike. Just glorious. How were the bugs?
Am thinking your trip home yesterday was a bit messy, Sam.
Is today the day, Bill?
Found a paper bag of avocados that I bought last week hidden on the back corner counter of the kitchen where I put them to ripen. A comic that came up on my Facebook feed reminded me that I had put them there and although they were a little more ripe than ideal, I made a quick batch of guacamole before they ripened further.
Heading in to work this morning.

Good morning gentlemen.
Sassy doesn't even budge when I get up. Today was at 4:45. It's 5:15 now and she's still asleep upstairs.
Moving day? We moved a lot on active duty, and it was always kind of bittersweet: on to new things but leaving a place we loved, too. Hope all goes well, Bill.
Nice fall day, yesterday: a bit of rain in the morning, with some sun in the afternoon and a high of 70. I spent some time working on disassembling my old recliner and some time in the shop working on a walnut vase, then took Sassy on a nice walk.
Today, it might not get out of the 50s. Rita has an MRI at midday. Part of the effort to determine why she has been having increased migraine episodes.0 -
Good Morning
Today is indeed the day. The loaders called to push it back to noon, we could use the extra time. Just a few things to prep. It is unlikely it will fit in the 16’ container so I have a contingency 8’ POD scheduled for Tues which we will load ourselves. All furniture needs to go today. We are wiped out. I am pone to dizziness late in the day, probably just need a few days of primary rest. Back is holding up though! But we will get through today and just prep for tomorrow’s cleaning day and rest. Heather’s former coworkers are coming to help after church. We are blessed.0 -
Good Afternoon,
Grocery store in town still closed, reckon power being out allowed lots to ruin.
Gas stations are packed around interstate folks waiting in road to get in this morning, East of here is still without power and many are coming here to get gas.
Have lots that needs cleaning hoping blower handles most.0 -
Good afternoon. Have to catch up on what has been happening here. Sounds like Sam had a run-in with a hurricane, and Bill is ready to launch. And Frankie is dealing with some issues... Hope Rita's MRI goes well.
I didn't have much trouble with the bugs in Maine, except some biting flies the first few days when it was hot, but it got much cooler after that. No bugs really to speak of. The biggest pests were the chipmunks and red squirrels, and a mouse that got in my car shortly after I arrived. The squirrel moved right in to my campsite as soon as he saw food and kept coming back after I chased him. Sat right up at the table like he was at home. Not potty trained either. I had some mouse repellent that I opened for my car. Being on the beach, when it got cool the wind sometimes seemed bothersome; I kept a campfire going mornings and nights.
Being home I am munching on things I didn't get while away. Need to get that back in line.
Have a good rest of the day.0
