No, indeed we cannot and this is the first one in all the years that I have lived in St. Petersburg that actually scares me. My tiny house was built in 1940 and I have no home owner's insurance. Nobody will insure me because of the age of my home. I stand to lose everything in this storm. I am not in a flood zone, which is good, I am smack in the center of the peninsula, but with highly saturated soil and strong winds my neighbor's two trees are poised to come down right on top of me. If you are in touch with the man upstairs, please pray for us.

Thanks guys. I appreciate you both. I'll keep checking in as long as I have power. I don't expect to lose it before Wednesday morning, but you never know.

I'll probably be spending the night in my bathtub tomorrow night. The bathroom, hallway, and kitchen are the only rooms that don't have a false ceiling, but the kitchen has a big window so it's out. No windows in the bathroom or tiny hallway.

Got my playlist for tomorrow night started:
Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season - Jimmy Buffett
Rock You Like a Hurricane - Scorpions
Here Comes the Rain Again - Eurythmics
Riders on the Storm - The Doors
Boom, Boom (Out Go the Lights) - Pat Travers
Dancing in the Dark - Bruce Springsteen
    :D

    Hahaha!! That's a great attitude!

How about - Love a Rainy Night - Eddie Rabbit
The Thunder Rolls - Garth Brooks
November Rain - Guns and Roses
Songs About Rain - Gary Allen
Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Head - BJ Thomas
Blame it on the Rain - Milli Vanilli

Maybe different genera's for you, but might keep it interesting!

I absolutely love visiting the cost, but the anticipation of these hurricanes is insane! I'll stick with the tornadoes that come out of no where and last less than an hour...

Ha, awesome suggestions. My sister also recommended:
Riding the Storm Out - REO Speedwagon
In the Dark - Billy Squire
Charming Mess - The Black Crowes

Stay safe. And personally, I would take out Riding the Storm Out just because I don't like REO.

Sounds like you are most likely without power this morning. Praying for safety!

Hey guys! I'm Baaaack! Lost power around 8:30pm Wednesday night. Restored Friday around 1:30pm. Trees next door lost some pretty big branches in my yard, but they all missed the house. I have a leak in my garage roof and some fence damage, but all in all I consider myself to be very lucky and now I know that my little house will stand up to a Cat 3. It was a scary scary night listening to branches breaking and stuff pinging off the house and windows. The winds were brutal and so noisy. Not something I want to do again.

Welcome back. Glad you are okay and not having to look for a new place to live.
