    • Longazz day yesterday.
    • VA appt was the highlight. Despite the reputation, I've had nothing but positive in/out interactions and experiences. I have to do an induced sleep study endoscope next - not sure when.
    • Despite HH, remained OP yesterday.
    • Tomorrow WI should yield success, in time for Halloween party in the 'hood tomorrow night.
    • Thanks, Mary! I'd rater cultivate relationships that are mutually beneficial. I've spent a lifetime of being let down/put down by DF for last time. He crossed the line for the final time coming after DW. And, though I went through the stages of anger and grief - have really been ok with this! I wrote him my thoughts and feelings and that's that.
    • Here's to a super, Friday eve!

    Good morning !

My dgs loves Elmo! So I painted this little pumpkin last night, to bring to him later today. His Daddy carved him his other fav, Daniel Tiger.

Temps back down to 39F this morning brrr. High 60's for the afternoon. The leaves are falling fast.

This is our final weekend at the lake for us, buttoning everything up for winter.

Hope your move went well Steph!

Kelly, did DS1 set a wedding date? Find a venue yet?

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

    Good morning BBB friends.

Had a rejuvenating hike through an ancient forest, yesterday: 12.6 miles with 1,200 feet of climbing. In the evening we went over to DS's house for pumpkin pie and conversation. Made for a great day. Unfortunately followed by a tough night.

We canceled security monitoring on our house several years ago. The system was still active though. Last night it started chirping that it needed maintenance. I'd drag myself downstairs and hit the cancel button - and 15 minutes later it would start again. I found I could bury my better ear in the pillow and not hear the darn thing, but as soon as I rolled over in my sleep, I'd hear the chirping and wake up. I gave up at 4 and got dressed. I took the cover off the control panel in the closet and unhooked things until the system went dark. We should have no more nocturnal alarms, but I will be very tired today.

    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • Bummer Dave. I had a similar issue with smoke detectors last year. They are all interconnected so if one is having a problem, they all chirp and it wasn't the battery. They all got replaced after being totally disconnected for a day or two.
    • Ditto on the successful move Steph.
    • Buttoning up the lake house is always tough.
    • Lunch ride on the motorbike planned we are supposed to hit 80°. You are welcome to join us Sam. We are headed to Monticello.
    • Do you still get Thursdays off Lee or did the labor crunch nix that?

    Good morning.

Smoke alarms never fail during the day. - Confucius

We had a similar issue with the alarm in Deerfield. It was a battery on a motion detector. We replaced it though because the controls were visible from the window by the front door, so we didn't want a potential thief seeing a dark display.

In a week, we're off to Italy.

    Morning gang.

Move went smoothly. Elevator was working properly but we only have one elevator key and only one shopping cart fit in at a time. We had 4 shopping carts, one roller suitcase and 2 bicycles. We could (and usually do) pack more efficiently. As we unpacked Ron took pictures of everything except perishables and my clothes. It's been awhile since we did this and we have added a few things. Never know when you will need an inventory.

I'll do my clothes soon...wanted to get the kitchen arranged first. We have a much smaller refrigerator and a super tiny freezer plus at the last place there was a second unit in the outdoor kitchen. So far that is the only real challenge.

    Good Afternoon,
Doctor appointment for shoulder yesterday a real pain, will need to get rotator cuff healed then plan on shoulder replacement or living with not being able to use left arm. Young doctor said at 72 I may not want to go through surgery; she has no concept of what old is or quality of life for an older person. Plus we plan on staying around just to harass our children. Gave me more pain meds and told to take, these are milder.
Pablo's friend is gone for the week should be back a day or two next week. He is still tired today.
Looks like tomorrow I'll have to take DMIL to doctor appointment since DW more than likely will not be back from her doctor's appointment.
We have monitor on house because it saves on homeowners insurance, but we do not know how to activate it. We have had to get DS to change batteries in alarms and get alarm system company to replace backup battery.
