Thoughts for you and Connie, Steve.
Prayers for Bill's DM.
Both girls called back to the field today. Trial is so big that each series is run on consecutive days and so this is a 3 day trial. Most trials are run 2 days with the pros running Saturday and the amateurs running Sunday.
We are running with the pros this trial.
Onward and downward ;-)0 -
Good luck with the dogs, Lee. Sounds like a blast!
Clear weather again this morning, and much chillier than other mornings; we are heading for mid-20º at night in a few days. Our hike was really nice yesterday. Only 1.1 miles and 130' climb, but I learned our friend Fred is 91, not 87, so that was enough. Had lunch afterward in an old house turned into a mountainside cafe.
DD wants to climb Mt. Wachusett with me this afternoon. Haven't attempted since COVID knocked me down a year ago, so we'll see how it goes.
Time for the coffee to brew...0 -
Good morning!
Thank you gentlemen for the kind thoughts and prayers yesterday.
Lee, congratulations on the trials! We're hoping to see some pictures of bling or at least smiling girls. It sounds like they are doing great!
We finally got some real rain last night. It came in the form of thunderstorms, but who doesn't like a good thunderstorm (except for Frankie). It was 86 yesterday, it should be a lot cooler this morning.
I've been doing all of the cooking since I retired. I have also been baking more deserts. Connie had given me a recipe for a pumpkin dump cake to try. The woman who wrote the recipe was drunk on pumpkin spice. We are going to have to throw the whole thing out. That does not happen very often.
Have a great day!

Good morning gentlemen.
Here's to successful back surgery, Bill.
Good luck at the trials, Lee.
Too bad about the cake.
We have one more dry day, it seems, before the next round of fall storms sweeps in from the Pacific. I need to wash the truck. Have a madrone bowl on the lathe I want to finish, too. And I should get out to ride my bike. That sounds like a full day to me.

Yup add my good luck wishes too for you and your "girls" Lee at the trials.
Ooooh 91 y/o Fred. Hmmm I'd be hiking slowly too Mike. Glad ya got out.
We too are expecting some real rain this week-end in the PacNW. We do need it though.
We will be in Depoe Bay which will be especially rainy and windy.
Ah Steve ya gotta love it "drunk on pumpkin spice" oh well!! LOL.
Today should be quite nice as Dave says before the rains hitd Fri night thru the week-end.
Have fun all!0 -
Good Morning
Lee, I hope you and the girls have a good weekend at the trials.
I see that we will be making the drive up to Eugene in the rain on Sunday. I suppose it is a fitting welcome to the PNW as we make the shift. Now that it is finally happening the reality of leaving our home of the last 32 years is hitting us a bit harder. There are many things we will miss in leaving the Bay Area. Today Heather is using up the rest of her Spa gift certificates. I will begin to organize things for our departure so we can get an early start on Sunday. Tomorrow we are going into SF to spend some time with our eldest son. He is struggling a bit in life right now and we won't to encourage him, etc. Though we don't see him as often as we like, knowing he was just over in the City was comforting. I am flying out from Eugene a week from today to see my mother in Racine. I haven't been since I went and caught Covid. Good thing the house stuff is set up to be done remotely.0 -
Good Afternoon,
Told you girls would do good.
Had to carry DMIL to doctor this morning, she was not ready when I got there to pick her up; had on dirty clothes and did not put her hearing aid in' reckon doctors and nurses use to older folks.
No plans for weekend.
Hope all goes well in move and sell. Good you are getting to see mother.
I do not like pumpkin even with pumpkin spice added.
Would love to have some rain sent this way.
Okra needs picking, got a couple tomatoes from garden this morning.0
