Well, I think I've moved enough items to make room for a morning walking workout. 🀞🏻 I can get moving. The time always seems worse the day after.

Welcome to the 1st full week of November! We're starting out with some rain today and tomorrow.

I made it 1 mile with Leslie this morning and followed it up with some balance training from Improved Health.

I spent the weekend still reorganizing things. Long story short, the bathroom remodel turned into some extra work in the dining room. This included us losing the back of our built-in hutch, which shared a wall with the bathroom. He never put a back on the hutch, so when I open the hutch, I see studs and drywall. Everything that I had in that cabinet is through the house. That includes my 12-person setting glass china set. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
I'm still making calls to find something to take care of that and the dining room wall. πŸ˜–

I hope you're starting November on a high note.

I gave up on October. I was doing great with the water goal but that was about it. As a result, this month, I am not worrying about water or tracking. Dennis needs to walk so we are doing a 15 minute walk outside each day. 7 1/2 minutes out and 7 1/2 minutes back. I'd like to get 3 miles a day on my Garmin, but I am struggling with some "caregiver" issues, in short, I am exhausted. I do not know how you do it all the time @Deeder522. So far, 3 miles has not been in the cards.

Oh my gosh!!! Did you know the back of your hutch was a bathroom wall? That takes the word "built in" to a whole new level! My mother had a corner cabinet in my childhood home and the back was the two walls, but the house was built in 1820, so one expects such things. I am not sure what it looks like, but you could go to Lowes and have them cut either a nice grade of plywood or sheet rock to the size (or sizes if you need to fit between shelves) you need and then paint or stain it yourself. More work, but solves the problem for less cost.

There is no way I can do that Leslie workout you found and posted last month, but I LOVE it and am planning it for January instead! I have almost all of the DVDs and can fake it for the ones I do not have, but it will get me started on the right track. By then, Dennis will be off my case and back on his feet and carrying more of his weight around here. :drinker: My office is downstairs and it is hard to be down here when he is upstairs and needs care. In January, he is on his own!!!!!!! New Year: New Dennis!!!

Nov Goal: 15 minute walk/day and 3 miles on Garmin
    Nov 1-15 min walk-X Garmin miles: 1.9
    Nov 2-15 min walk-X Garmin miles: 1.7
Nov 3-15 min walk- Garmin miles: 1.2

Like I said, not doing great so far, but hopefully, I'll pick up!

@zichab I think I was optimistic last month about that 21-day workout. I looked at it yesterday and after a few minutes, I "Noped" my way out of it. 🀣 After a short 1 mile with Leslie, I was feeling it with the knee-ups.

    Back at it tomorrow.

    1 Mile again with Leslie.
Next week I hope to start with free weights again.

I spent time cleaning out stuff from the bathroom to see what needed to be kept and throwing out so many different things. Sometimes lots of storage is nice but it also allows for stored clutter. This cleaning also meant I got more space back in the bedroom. πŸ˜€

My cleaning continued to the hallway closet, and I filled another bag of items to toss.πŸ˜€

It was a wet day here and I've been a little lazy watching the oak tree give up its leaves for the season.
This weekend, Ryan tried carbs again. Brown rice seems to be ok again. I also made blueberry muffins and a raspberry loaf from a GF King Arthur mix. He ate half of the raspberry loaf in 1 night.

My exercise computer started having some issues a few days ago, but I think we have it figured out now, so I'll be back to walking tomorrow.

Well, I surprised myself and hit my Apple Challenge 4x so far.
I woke up at 4:40 a.m. and never got back to sleep, so around 6:45, I did a walk-n-talk with Jessica Smith.

Yesterday, we had a small front blow-through and were treated to a wonderfully bright double rainbow.

I woke up and was able to do a Walk with weights from Improved Health. Man, even 2 lb weights can get heavy fast. 🀣

It's a frosty start to the day here. 30℉ and the car is covered in frost. The sun is supposed to come out for the day and I think I should probably pack up the back porch for the incoming winter season.

Hope you have a good day!

It's a rest day for me. This morning, I have a headache, so I'm not feeling energetic.
Jessica Smith has a new Walk nTalk 1 mile video up on youtube today. I'll maybe check that our tomorrow for a walk.

Well, I missed a couple of days, but so far, I am walking 15 minutes outside! Usually to my mailbox, which is about a 6 minute walk away. Dennis is improving very quickly now and even walked with me on 3 different days. He is also going outside and puttering around the garage and yard so I have had some alone time which I have desperately needed. I did not feel good on Tuesday or Wednesday, but I have no idea what the problem was. I was tired to the point of exhaustion, but had not really done anything to cause it. Meh, old age I guess!
We had some skim ice on the lake yesterday and the big ski centers here are opening today. We have had some snow, but not enough to amount to much. It is cold now though-40s during the day and upper teens lower 20s at night. Ski centers can make snow when it is that cold at night.
I hear you about the storage=clutter dilemma! When we remodeled this house, we put in a huge Master Closet and a small pantry type closet and I told Dennis, that's it for excess storage! We have been so much better and tossing stuff we do not like rather than just stuffing it in a cabinet. One of the You Tubers I follow says, "If you have the space, you will fill the space." and that is the truth!
I am so excited for Ryan! Gosh I hope he can continue eating some stuff he really loves without a problem.
You are right about those 2 pound weights. They seem like nothing when you are used to 5 pounds, but when you are starting out, they get heavy fast!

This morning, I did Jessica Smith's new Walk N Talk, followed by Arm Strength & Balance with Improved Health.

Ryan seems to be holding on to a little more weight this week. It's a little too early to get excited because we've had that before, and then he drops all of it. This year has been a ride on the struggle bus for us in many ways. I'm hoping to get my workouts back in a consistent manner, which will help keep the winter blues away. The weather has turned to fall grey skies, and temps are fluctuating in the 40s and 50s.

The purge continues but I nearly have my bedroom back. I have things that I would love to get rid of but can't as I'm pretty sure my Mom would disown me. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Way to go, Dennis. I understand needing time alone, very well. 😊 When the body wants a break, it takes a break. Hoping your feeling better for a nice weekend.

2 different videos from Improved Health combined for just over 1 mile tracked.

I need to remind the kid to bring down the Christmas lights. It's a lot nicer to put them up when the temperatures are in the 50s instead of the 30s.

Well, we are halfway through the month and I'm about halfway to my goals. πŸ˜€ This morning I did a 15-minute walk from Improved Health. It was exactly what I was looking for, quick but consistent movement.

We watched a very low-lying fog roll in last night and woke up to a Dense Fog Advisory. So, I'll stay home until late morning to let things clear up.

1 Fast Mile with Jessica off of a DVD I have of hers.

I put my outdoor Christmas lights up yesterday since it was decent temperature-wise. Today it's wet and cold. Rain and possible ❄️ this week. Time to setup an appointment for the winter tires to be put on.

I started one of her heart-healthy walk videos on YouTube three days ago. I have stayed consistent and finished each video without a break. Two years ago I was walking assisted with a cane, and now I'm doing a workout program. My goal for November is to be able to do a 30-minute video without stopping by the end of the month. Leslie's energy is contagious for me lol

Welcome, @EmoEvangelist. I'm happy that you found our little chat. Leslie's Heart Healthy Walk is 1 of my favorites by far. How amazing are you? 2 years from walking with a cane to completing a workout with no break! Go, Rock Star! πŸ’«

Thank you so much! Just finished my third day working out in a row! I have found as I lose weight, my bad pain days don't limit my mobility as much anymore. Still working on my kitchen discipline though! πŸ€ͺ🀣

One mile with Leslie this morning. The Internet is acting up on my computer, so I didn't get my strength training in. πŸ˜•

Ah, Kitchen discipline. We all struggle with it. I'm trying to break my pop habit right now, as I think that's probably worse than the food I'm sneaking.

It's a rest day for me. It's also the 1st snowfall of the season here. I do not envy my neighbors who are moving out today.

Stay warm and get a few extra steps for me, today. 😊

I missed our outside walks yesterday and today as I have some kind of a stomach bug. It is better this afternoon. I am prone to acid reflux and take meds for it, but nothing was neutralizing the acid with this bug. I will add more miles tomorrow and we will be walking through the grocery store!
Welcome @EmoEvangelist! WOW I am impressed with your walking success!!! Losing weight makes so many pains lessen or go away, but it is just so darn hard to do. Here's to meeting that 30 minute work-out goal! :drinker:
We are finally going to get some snow accumulation tonight and tomorrow. Not enough to plow, but enough to make all my beautiful hemlocks white! They are predicting 1-2 tonight and 1-3 tomorrow so this time of year, that means 2 all together!!! The loons have left the lake so it will not be long before ice is in. I so  Winter!!!!
One thing nice about being older @Deeder522, is all the people who gave you their stuff pass away and you can finally get rid of the stuff you really never wanted or liked. My grandmother was a huge collector of milk glass and I am not all that fond of it, but I ended up with it. I am a crystal kind of girl so milk glass just looks chunky to me. Anyway, when my Mom passed away, I found a lady who loved milk glass and took the whole collection off my hands. It felt like I had lost 250 pounds!!!!! On the other hand, I have an Art Deco china closet that belonged to that same grandmother and that will need to be pried from my cold dead hands!!! I love it so much!!!! I have already told my kids what came from the old countries and should probably be passed on, but the rest of it, do with it whatever you want!
My plan is to walk outside in the snow tomorrow!!! Crazy-I know!

The final week of November begins. Thanksgiving this week so I'm getting most of my steps around the house. I'm glad that we have a small gathering b/c just the work that goes into having a gathering of 6 is enough work I can't imagine a bigger gathering like when I was a kid with Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

I have 2 items of Milk Glass. A Pitcher and 6 matching glasses. They are kind of spiky on the outside. I like to look at them but I've never used them. We also have a fruit serving dish that I've been using for our little mandarin oranges.

I put up the Christmas tree this weekend but we won't decorate it until after Thanksgiving. πŸŽ„

    Happy Thanksgiving Eve.

My watch informed me I was a bit lazy yesterday, so I guess I better be a tad more active today. I had a good adjustment at the Chiropractor yesterday afternoon and slept pretty well last night. So today is all the house prep for tomorrow. (Read: cleaning and hiding things that I don't have a proper place for.)

Thanksgiving 2024 is in the books for me. I forgot to serve the Succotash and forgot to make the Stuffing. No one noticed or card though. Full bellies and grateful hearts over here.

Some winter weather is possibly heading into the area tonight with 1-4" of snow.
